It's not the LT4 that over heated, it was the automatic transmissions that would over heat. They did improve the cooling recently, but the issues were cooling the transmissions.

The manuals had very few issues to begin with and when they added the auxiliary cooler to them their issues were gone, but the auto still is having some issues pertaining to heat. I myself have had no issues with my A8 C7Z and its been tracked twice. I do live in the PNW though, so I don't often have real high ambient temps. In my opinion its been blowin' out of proportion.

Did you watch the video, or do you just think you somehow know better?
Both can be true at the same time.

So do you believe that the measurements performed by Motor Trend's team were inaccurate?

Ford first used superchargers on cars in 1957 Fairlane and Thunderbirds. Just FYI for those who think gm used them first in cars. A supercharger was also an option on gt350 in the 60s.

After the hinting of a possible NA beast, unless the gt500/cobra/mach1 is groundbreaking, I'm gonna wait for the NA. It's all I can think about now. A simple supercharged car with Manga ride is easy out of a 2018 GT

Surely as longs as it is taking, it will be a lot more than a GT350 with a supercharger slapped on it. Better be!

I'm with you. I'm very happy with the general NA driving characteristics VS turbo. I'm now very intent on purchasing the next NA ford offering (100hp/l + engine or big cube design like the 7L)

Turbos don't do it for me, they don't raise the little hairs in my arms like the vibrations, sound, and feeling of spinning an engine sky high.

Before my GT350 I had a '14 GTR and it had far too much lag - even with the engineered orrifce plates in the intake paths which were designed to help that year. Anyway NA is right!

I find it odd. The 2013-14 GT500 left the 20111-2015 ZL for lost. There is a HUGE difference between 12.5@113-115 mph and 11.6@126... I had a 2013 ZL and a base 2014 5.0... the ZL was an Auto. It never cracked above 114 in the 1/4, whereas my 5.0 auto with just an h-pipe, and throttle body upgrade ran 12.5@114 swapping on a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports in place of the all season Pirellis and no tune. So I find it comical that C&D mag and Motor Trend, say the ZL is a benchmark for the GT500, lol. I was surprised those mags didn't compare a 2011-2012 GT500 to the old ZL, because they were more inline with each other, at least a straight line. This new ZL can barely match the old 13'-14' GT500.... If, IF, the future GT500/Cobra, makes at least 675-725 hp, and has some aluminum on it, no back seats, (they're unnecessary in this car), and some 11-12" rear meats, with its new Magnaride, the ZL should get dusted again in a straight line, but more importantly, the ZL will meet its match on a roadourse. Considering the GT350R leaves the new ZL 3.5 seconds behind on the "Ring", this new Super Stang should be more of a fight against the C7 Z06 or slide between the Z0 and new future ZR from a performance perspective. Just stop, Ford, please, stop!!!! adding weight. It hurts every parameter of the vehicles performance and reduce mpg's. The good thing is that the 10 spd auto will be available on this new GT500 or Cobra, which should, if it has around 700 hp and not anymore weight, should crack low 3's to 60 mph.... We will know by August.

There's more to a car then just raw hp. The gt500 was very fast and should with 662hp. So it was much lighter and 80+ more hp then the zl1. But the zl1 held its own or better on the track and road handeling even being underpowered and heavier. The new ZL1 puts the old one to shame in every category, so has raised the bar. And you have it backwards, the zl1 beat the R at the ring, not the way you said. Now I would expect the new gt500 to be better then the ZL1 now that it has a benchmark to go after. To many just look at drag times as defining how good the car is when there are many more things that make up the whole package.
