Our photographer spotted a Black 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang testing in Dearborn and wearing a front bumper with the GT500 emblem in teal color. :like:

Looks incredible in black. And wow that’s a low stance for a production car!

Props to the driver for pursuing the city streets with sport cups in winter. Must have been fun

Love the side profile shot. Im thinking this car must have the ford performance lowering spring variant since it looks to have a nice lowered stance. Also has what looks like watson 4 point rollbar so must have been doing some work on track.

What's with the GT350 Track Pack spoiler? I thought the GT500 was going to have a taller spoiler only?

Assume this is just an engineering mule, cobbled together?

I thought that had a cage. Interesting. It actually looks good with the GT350 spoiler on it.

I would have 'borrowed' it for a bit and found the closest dyno shop. They might have dropped the charges.

Man, it would be insane if they had a lowering system (like the Ford GT). Track mode lowered stance wow.

No snake badges on the fenders or grill, and the rear deck has a GT350 style rectangular badge instead of the frameless cobra. Can't quite see of it says 350 or 500, but since it's a pre refresh deck panel I'd wager it's just a parts bin piece from a 350.

Rear spoiler looks to sit taller than the 350 track pack spoiler.

Car looks good in black. Helps that the front bumper and fake headlight vents all match the paint work when it's in black. Gives it a much cleaner look.

I like the base wheels more than the 7 spoke track pack wheels.

I like the GT350 track pack spoiler.. the gaudy wing on the full track pack is too over the top for me... belongs on a honda civic...
I am still having issues with the front end though and the elongated air intakes.. reminds me of either a snow plow or one of those cartoon characters where their jaw drops to the floor...
The blacked out bumper made the front end wonky as well.. but looks great with the black color and the GT500 badge.... I still think the designs are being influenced by the "younger generation" at Ford...look at the 2018 GT refresh... "darth vader"... give me a break.....
    it's growing on me... :fingerscrossed:

I definitely prefer the "mid-sized" rear wing, i.e., the new GT350 design with the Gurney flap. I think it balances the front-to-rear better, the two raised sections kind of mirror the front intakes (not to mention it's a bit more functional). The car is a little more in your face than this wing design, though I understand some people wanting to be a bit more subdued on the street.

Looks awesome but I'm betting this is of the cobbled together variety. Most apparent, the brakes don't look right.

Which is very odd because this is a base model.

I wonder if cups are an option with the handing package.

Otherwise I don’t know what’s going on with this car lol.
