I'll be sure to drive it tomorrow and get some more impressions.

I'd say they're about the same, my initial reaction is the 2 bearings added just slightly more than the CB005.

I did a quick detour through a neighborhood for #2. Keep in mind I don't find it to be an issue, so I'm less sensitive to the behavior. I'd say its 25% better upon first drive, but it's 100% still there.

Like I said, I'll drive it tomorrow for a long while and let you know.
So #1 sounds not too bad. A little more 'bang' over sharp stuff but overall nothing major.

That said, it's hard for me to understand how #2 doesn't bug the shit out you. I mean even today - warmish and dry in San Diego - I pull out on to a busy street and give it ~1/3 throttle and while the car scoots along just fine, the inside wheel is just chattering and hopping all the way through first gear - I can literally feel the LCA bouncing fore and aft. Maddening!

Thanks again.

Inside wheel hop is a feature of this car - Ford's f-up with the design and angles of the driveline as far as I can tell. LCA bearing will help a lot, but it won't go away without doing something with changing angles with the axles. Torsen or not, all of our cars seem to inside skip. Goes away almost entirely on my car when I have a lot of rear camber and/or very wide tires. Vertical links also alleviated a lot of it.

I drove about 3 hours today, highways down to 25mph zones. The noise increase is about what I mentioned earlier.

The harshness is noticeable for sure. It's not punishing, but it's a sharp increase. I don't mind it, but I could see how some might.

Regarding "your" issue :p

I just don't find it to be an issue. It doesn't prevent the car from accelerating at any rate I want, the limiting factor has and will always be wheel spin. The symptom you take issue with is still there, but it's better. If you're doing it to remove the symptom, don't. It's a big job and you might ruin the bushings removing them making going back to stock difficult and time consuming (maybe need new stock bushings) and won't eliminate it. The tough thing is everyone is different, cars are different, etc. This could be enough of a fix that it satisfies you, or it might be something you regret.

I'm very pleased with the modifications.

Good luck with your decision.

Wow - so refreshing to get no-bull feedback from you, wildcat and very few others here. Really, really appreciate it. You've saved me a ton of headache for something I now know (and had assumed all along) I'd regret.

This, however, makes me sad in that "my" issue (:)) is enough to make me consider jumping ship altogether and without a viable solution (without making the car less comfortable, even IF there were a solution), it's hard for me to see a future with this thing.

I do wonder, though, what my car would be like, no other changes, except for a Trak-lok lsd. Big job, big expense, high risk.

Again, still think there's something wrong with your car.

Glad to help. I will say it's shocking that you find the issue large enough to sell the car. I'm leaning towards what BmacIL said below because you're so strong in your opinion of the issue.

The car is impressive as a daily, autocross and HPDE. I certainly have encountered no behaviors (including the one we're discussing) that would lead me to get rid of the car. I love it.

Again, still think there's something wrong with your car.
I'm starting to think your position is more correct than I originally thought.

Have you tried driving it in track mode. I was driving it to the shop to get the toe link bearings and lca bearings swapped and I noticed when driving in track mode I didn't get any hop.

While working on a new "low cost" solution for these, I decided to compare the current bearing in our kit to an industry standard 1" bearing.

We will have the lower cost solution available soon, but it will not have our industry best 1" bearing in our BK055 Kit. ;)

I think this is a very good idea Kelly. I kind've wished I had got the BMR bearing kit just so I could support the company you work for, but I have the Steeda kit and haven't had any problems.

See - that's a good company right there. You already know your bearing is the best and can't be improved on, but rather than demand customers pay the price, you will offer a lower cost solution. Very wise business techniques.

Thanks sir!

We have been doing this for 10+years (offering low cost up to high end) - it just makes sense.

We have a few new items coming out, that will fit the "low buck" bill. ;)

Awesome. Although I see my suspension mods coming to an end, would
Love to add more BMR parts to my car. I'm thinking caster/camber plates plus BMR front subframe brace would do well with my setup.

What other low buck stuff is getting released?

I can't imagine cheaper BMR parts, they are priced pretty good to begin with!

Bluemustang - can we take that as support for Steeda since your Steeda bearings are installed & haven't had any issues

Steeda has been designing, engineering & manufacturing parts for over 28+ years ... while making a significant investment in the U.S. with operations in both Valdosta, GA (manufacturing) & Pompano Beach, FL.

Enjoy the bearings as they are built with quality & strength ... they have a ULT Static Radial Load of over 55,000 pounds ... we are completely confident in the design & they are a great buy.

You have several options out there ... that is what makest the Mustang aftermarket a great place ... something for everyone!
