Hey Man - good deal and great start. If I were you I would wait on the 1 piece driveshaft until you can get a couple of things sorted out. Sorry if I didn't read your posts enough, but have you indexed the rear shaft all the way around the pinion flange yet? If not, do that first. If so and no improvement, then see if you can make an improvement with the washers.

I've tried running the car on jack stands supported at the rear control arms, but in my experience it does not allow you to feel the vibe as well as driving on a smooth street.

I would start with putting one 0.23 oz washer on the bolt closest to the yellow dot. Drive car. If no improvement, move the washer 180 deg. to other side. If needed, then hit the 90 deg. positions. Check back with us.

If you want to chat about the problem over the phone I can talk to you about the problem and help you troubleshoot or diagnose. PM me.
I have not indexed shaft yet but will give it a try on my next attempt, Its gonna be few weeks until I get a chance to work on it again but I will PM you for shure to get some extra info, I appreciate your and others help and advise on this issue.

I'm tired and disgusted with the way Ford is handling this issue. This needs to resolved by Ford and not by the consumer. Has anyone considered a class action lawsuit, i'd sign on to it.

The issue is a class action does nothing but make the lawyers rich. You would get a penitence for your trouble and would not actually get a fix out of it.

Yeah, it is a PITA... Just do the 3 repair attempts and then send them the final repair letter and then file lemon law in your state. Or go through the BBB. BBB is really easy to work with but you won't always get the result you want and may have to file LL anyways. The BBB will almost always net you at least a 75 or 100K extended warranty offer.

No problem. Happy to do it, and that is what forums like this are for.

One more suggestion. If you can borrow or buy a dial indicator with a magnetic base (check harbor freight), you might luck out on finding your problem, and getting an idea about what a solution might look like. You'll want to measure the pinion flange runout where it connects to the rear flange of the drive shaft. If it's a couple of thousandths, then field balancing is the way to go. If it's more than .010, check the run out on the driveshaft. This is where things get complicated. If you have a high run out flange there is absolutely no way a perfectly straight and balanced driveshaft is going to compensate for it. In fact it will make it worse. Knowing this info will settle your dilemma about whether or not to get another driveshaft.

Mine was 0.003", and to tell you how sensitive it is, no amount of field balancing or aftermarket driveshafts could touch the problem.

It's a PITA! You all are right about that!

.003 or .030? .003 would be quite good... But the FSE told me that it isn't even that simple. He said my first pinion flange had better run out specs but the second one balanced out better when bolted to the DS. Crazy...

Dropped my car off at the dealer today, 2016 Ecoboost Mustang with the PP. They are replacing the drive shaft. We will see if that fixes the vibration issue.

Dealer called me today and told me they think they have mine fixed. So After work I drove to the dealer. Upon getting there I read the copy of what they did and after road force balancing the tires a second time they determine one tire needs replaced. They tried the hose clamp balance with the MTS 4000 didn't help. They checked the out put yoke on trans and found .012 movement. They called the hotline and they said that was fine. Put my drive shaft back in, no change. So they indexed the DS and they said that fixed it. They also stated that I had to take it fixed or not and that any other attempts to fix it had to go through ford directly.:frusty: Dodge HEMI is sounding better and better. So they pretty much kiss my feet to return there for this issue (120 miles round trip) X 4 plus my time. This $$%$ is really getting to me.

I would demand that in writing & immediately file a LL claim :paddle:

You can trade it on a 392 hemi charger or challenger..with the inventory glut going on you could make a great deal on a leftover 16...

Not interested in losing my A$$ though. Not sure what gonna happen. waiting for my Ford case manager to call. This problem has gone so wrong. I spend 22,5 on this car and I'm not happy with driving it. The vibration in addition to the seat bothering my right leg. after 15 min I'm glad to park it and get out. my 85 berlinetta rides and is more comfortable than this.

Yeah, used market seems soft right now. I was looking to trade the wife's '09 Infiniti Hardtop Convertible before Christmas, but all the trade-in offers were appallingly low . Planning to wait a few weeks & try it on eBay to see if I can't get something more reasonable for it.

You read it correctly - I know exactly what you mean. The only way I could ever get mine right was a 0.000 runout flange and a perfectly balanced aluminum shaft. I STILL had to field balance with washers.

I ordered a balanced PST shaft and put it with the 0.003 flange and it vibrated so bad it destroyed the U-joints.

It is definitely not that simple to have a zero runout flange and a zero runout shaft - you are right. They have to be balanced as a set, and then it's still complicated.
