I love my exhaust setup. I get thumb ups from everyone but it's just way too loud for work and starting it up at 5 AM. I have Stainless Power LT headers with no cats, an h pipe to magnaflow comp mufflers.

I switched out to the stock resonator with stock mufflers and that's way too quiet. It almost seems like the car is being held back at that point. So, I switched out the stock mufflers with my magnaflows (stock reso, comp mufflers). This made it almost unbearable, sound that wanted to come out but couldn't. The last switch that I made was, h pipe with stock mufflers. This setup was by far the worst, it gave me a raspy sound from 1500rpm and up.

What setup are you guys with LTs running that is neighbor friendly?

(I'll do a video in the morning)

Try the ARH catback. It's pretty quiet as is. Other than that idk. I wish I could hear a "moderate" longtubes setup in person. Everyone I know goes for catless with the loudest damn catback they can find and it ends up retarded loud.

I recommend Borla Touring catback with the h pipe resonator if you can find any! The new ones come with an x pipe resonator so i m not sure how loud they are.

Garage or parked outside? I sometimes keep my door down on startup. But you sure made a lot of poor choices for noise level to be an issue, itd be stupid to go to back to resonators, etc..,

Simply a mistake to learn from, no biggie. Or he can try an aftermarket resonator.

I have my 66 in the garage. Its only an issue due to my transfer. I'll deal with it.

Well, I knew what I was getting into when I went with the setup and this isn't my first. However, my transfer means I'll be parking next to the boss. I might have found some 11 GT500 mufflers, so I'm going to try the resonator/GT500 mufflers.

Will sound good and be relatively inexpensive. Just dont overpay on install. People are being told at some places the gt500 mufflers are some sort of extremely difficult job.

X pipe with a Long set of dynomax race bullets in the middle (18" long case) and I'm about to replace my muffler deletes with a set of shorter 12" case bullets in the rear to take away the last bit of rasp it has when the motor is cold. I hate rasp I like a nice smooth tone and no drone (I don't have drone as it sits) It's pretty tame as it sits until you are on it at least half throttle or so. I tuned my cold starts to be quieter than stock though which helps a ton.

I am glad I live in a neighborhood with loud bikes, muscles cars, and V8's. Everybody loves a good exhaust system.
