There is another bolt below the upper one, I'd loosen it to, I actually just loosened up the bolts and work it back and forth to make sure it was coming out as far as possible, then tighten the bolts back up. This is what I did and I'm not into racing or track days, so it's close enough for me...
I used a Flex Box-End Ratcheting Combination Wrench I got at Lowe's, KOBALT #0338377 18mm. This or one like it should work. After I did the springs and shocks & struts, so I took it to a Dealer to get the oil changed [ extended warranty ], so I decided I'm already here so I'll have them do an...
Have SR springs on a 2015 base GT with Steeda shocks and struts, they ride and handle very good. Never had any experience with Eibach so I can't say. American Muscle list most of the spring compression values on their site, the SR are about in the middle of most of them. I like mine just fine...
You have to keep backing the nut off till it will move. I loosened the outer bolt also and it moves easily once the initial breaking loose, I though this sucker will never move , but it does! I only have a level so I'm going to try to get both side the same and see how it looks and wears for...
If your using the BMR cradle locking parts you need to let Steeda know as the alignment pieces need to be shorter than normal to work with the BMR pieces. I have the Steeda IRS braces so the alignment pieces fit without being altered. I also have Steeda Pro Action shocks and Struts and no wheel hop.
The base GT has a jittery pogo stick like ride, I have one and you can check your tire pressure on the base as well. I have the Pro Action Adjustable at 1/2 turn off full soft, rides and handles nice.;)
I have a base GT,6m. I put the Pro Action Adjustables on with lowering springs the, adjustment is 1/2 turn off full soft. The car ride really good and handles good as well. It's so good that I don't think about it much, any more. I also installed the IRS braces with the Alignment kit, these with...
Is it just me or is anyone else getting the feeling that these cars are not setup for the kind of power their producing. I don't seem to see a large number of tuner car having wrecks as much as the newby in a pretty much pure stock cars. I almost get the impression that these car are...
You need to check out- Suspensions, Brakes & Chassis, there is a thread about BMW to S550s, you should be right at home there. Although after they sort the handling out, most of them seem fairly happy with their GT.
The IRS braces bolt to the bottom of the cradle and along the bottom side of the car, the BMR parts are more like a hinge, just holding the front of the cradle. IMO the braces are better, but the most effect I got was from changing out the OEM shocks and adding the alignment kit, that with the...
I think the Koni's are mono or single tube shocks, the Steeda Pro Action is a twin tube which makes for a softer ride as far as DD. This is why I got the Steeda shock over the Koni shocks.
I don't race my GT, but had bad wheel hop. So I got the Steeda IRS braces and put them on, this greatly reduced the problem, a good result. I then got the Steeda ProAction shocks and struts, also the Steeda alignment kit, put them on, no more wheel hop! I'd say you need at least to get rid of...
I believe your correct about the nonadjustable pro-action shocks and struts, I have the adjustable ones. They ride and corner great, I have yet to take a big hit while going over a dump or pot hole in the road, the valving seems quite good for DD. The twin tube design gives a better ride than...
I have a base 2015 GT, I got sick of the pogo stick feel of the ride and put on some aftermarket shocks and struts, the difference is amazing, the car rides and handle like it should have from the start. Point being, I totally bypass the Ford options altogether, they screwed the poch the first...
