Did you get an email like this Andrew? This is mine so, I didn't have to go looking for it. I got it in May.

Hi Peter,

Congratulations on your Ruby Red Ford Mustang Fastback order!

We know it’s been a while since you placed your order and we want to confirm that we now have a specific order number for your Mustang in our production system.

NSC order number: XXXX

This number can be used as your order number until your Mustang is assigned a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

As you can imagine we have been swamped with orders and whilst it may be some time before your Mustang arrives, this really is a case of good things come to those who wait.

So what happens next? We'll keep you informed about the delivery of your Mustang as it goes into build, then onto a ship, before finally arriving in Australia and being delivered to your chosen Dealership Lane Ford.

The next email you will receive will be when production of your Mustang has been finalised. Until then, if you have any enquiries please contact your Dealership.

Sincerely,
Ford Australia

Get right onto them Mustang gt619. I got the same email on the 7th July after ordering on the 18th Feb. I also received a phone call from the dealer telling me the same thing the day before this email came through.

Thanks Daffy, I have been in constant communication with Ford Aust FB.
They have always confirmed due for August build based on my NSC.
First they said come back to them end of July for VIN and now their saying come back to them mid August. Very frustrating when so many others ordered after me and tracking their vehicles on ships as we speak.

Thanks for listening...
yep ange, ford are doing the same with me, told me to contact last week for vin, now being told next month for vin. its like when ever, one day will be happy days

Hi Fi,

Its so frustrating isn't it..
I cant be that hard to plan to produce something 12 months out and give the customer a firm date? I am in manufacturing and would get our asses kicked if we don't commit to 4 - 6 weeks lead time at worst.
Lucky for Ford we cant buy our Mustang elsewhere..:shrug:

Zee unlike a lot of others I hate to tell you this but your dealer is probably pissing in your pocket. Those segmentation dates are bullshit you wont see a proper build date unless it is on ETIS and it wont be on ETIS unless it has a VIN number.
I would be extremely suprised to see your car this year.
I have been so mucked around with mis information I dont trust one thing that comes out of my dealers mouth you will know more about what is going on with your car than the dealer will by following stuff online here.

the crux of the matter is that the dealers have absolutely no idea what is going on such is the disconnect between ford and the dealers its absolutely incredible.

Yeah all good tbh I'm not expecting the car until March next year. They told me to call back early Sept and they should have a VIN, guess we'll see.

My dealer provided me with a Vista segmentation date of 30/11/15 a couple of months before my car was built.

Actual build date was 10/12/15.

The dealership rang me yesterday to inform me that a Sept build is likely, so I messaged Ford AU on fb and they got back to me today to confirm that a Sept build is likely and to get back to them at the end of this month and they should be able to supply me with a VIN...fingers crossed

Hope this is true, but don't hold your breath.
Might be Nov before you get your VIN.
90 Days after this for delivery.
