So why are you riding on Velgens and Eibach springs? Shouldn't you have supported American labor? How do you know your springs are made in the US facility and not in Europe or Asia? Guess you got to support Taiwan too?
are we discussing wheels and springs? no... we are discussing headers... and I know my wheels weren't MADE in america but Velgen is a home grown independant SMALL american business, so I still supported an American business at least... if everything was american made so be it but everything WON'T be. in the case of headers...kooks, arh, sw are american made. Which is what we are talking about.

i got roush fascia and spoiler too which ARE made in america if that means anything to you. I believe corsa is too and my trufiber cowl hood. RTR valance might even be too but that I can't remember. oh and my mgw that is going in on thursday.

I've done as much as I can supporting Americans with modding this American car. good grief...the day we talk down on supporting Americans.....on july 4th.

some of you act like it's a bad thing or something, I don't get it.

It is the 4th & a day that represents our freedom, to buy what you want & to buy from where you want. With that said, if your going to get headers, today is going to be the best day to save money next to cyber Monday or black Friday so get on it. Lol Hope you guys have a happy forth with your friends and family. On a side note if you buy from Beefcake even if SP is made in China (IDK?) your still supporting American people.
PS 90% of our metal comes from China so every header has a little bit of Chinese in them.

Go with stainless power and spend the money saved elsewhere. Fit and finish are great, welds look great. I'm all for "buying american" but when they are charging double for the same performance, it's hard to justify that.

Stainless power, all the way up to ARH are made in a jig, they should all fit the same.

And "racing professionally" is no reason to buy a more expensive set of headers. I'm not even sure what that means.

If it were between Kooks and ARH, I'd go for ARH. Kooks are more of a mid length header which gives up a bit of low end performance for better top end. The difference isn't huge, but look at pictures of them and the difference is obvious.

So I'll be the first to admit I don't know everything there is to know about long tube headers. So the question is, is it worth it to go with ARH over stainless power for the difference in price? Thanks for any and all input!
My chepo SP LTH work great and left enough money for my lund tune with Ngauge and JLT intake compared to just buying other headers .

My sp headers fit great. I was amazed at how easy they went in. Much easier to install than to remove the dam factory manifolds. I almost gave up trying to remove the top nuts of the passenger side.

Go with SP from beefcake you won't regret it. Use saved money on tune or other goodies.

Went with Kooks because of their quality.
The shop I had install it said that the fit was perfect.
Bough the Solo Mach XV at the same time. Power and sound is awesome!
Got an awesome price from at Brandon at Maryland Speed!

You throw around the buy American a lot so I was just wondering why you didn't do the same. I'm not talking down on supporting American at all. I buy what I can when I can to support local business and American companies. I just don't spout off on supporting American every chance I get. That is all. I can say if I go headers it will be Kooks or ARH just because of past experience.

Also just because a company is American doesn't mean they necessarily need or earned my business, quite a bit of shady ones around.

No offense was meant and Happy Independence Day to you and everyone else.

I've had LT's on multiple cars. That said, LT's are illegal for street use in all 50 states. LT's move the position of the cats and that is why LT's are not legal for street use.

The other problem with LT's is you really need a tune. Once tuned, kiss your power train warranty goodbye. If your state has an inspection program, your car may fail a visual inspection with LT's. PA does not seem to care as all my cars with LT's passed the yearly inspection/emission tests.

Many cars benefit from the more free flowing exhaust with LT's but many cars today have well designed manifolds. An example is the new Corvette C7. My tuner, who sells LT's, told me to only expect 10-15 additional HP on my C7. The sound was much better though.

When I bought my Mustang I promised myself I would not do anything that might cause me a power train warranty issue. I did put a catback on but no CAI ( I think they are worthless anyway), no tune and no LT's, S/C' etc...

Just installed Kooks 1 7/8" LT Headers and Green high flow cats. The sound is great and not loud at cruise. Really screams at WOT though. I'm going to be installing the Kooks full 3" h-pipe exhaust that connects to the Kooks headers tomorrow

And "racing professionally" is no reason to buy a more expensive set of headers. I'm not even sure what that means.
What I meant by that is back a few years ago it was remarked on several other forums that some professional racing organizations stipulated that you could only use ARH as aftermarket headers. A lot of these companies make great headers. But when put thru the stresses of racing and when facing the extreme temps and high engine revs for extended periods of time, lesser quality headers have been know to suffer damage and did not hold up nearly as well. Some of them cracked at the welds, on one occasion the header became soo hot that it caused something under the hood to ignite, and there were a few other cases I read about. That is where quality comes into play with headers. For everyday street use with occasional track duty, basically any header will do. They will all have pretty much the same hp/tq and performance improvements and should all fit pretty well. They'll all last pretty long and they all have great durability. Even the cheap Ebay stuff. But when it comes to severe track duty, I would have to recommend putting up the extra money for the best out there. And at that point, I would probably choose ARH over Kooks. That is what I meant.

Just a correction here, LTs are NOT illegal for street use in all 50 states. If you have HF cats with LTs and you're here in NJ, and your car has more than 50,000 miles and is older than 5 model years, then it is perfectly legal to remove the manifolds and OEM cats and replace them with LT headers and HF cats. Meaning, a 2010 Mustang GT with LTs and HF cats should be able to go thru DMV and pass at least that part of the inspection. You might fail if you have a tune in the ECU because the ECU will be in "Unreadiness Mode" but that is a different thing.
