FYI. I have ultimate headers with high flow cats. I am running forced induction and blew the cats out and cut off one bank of exhaust. This resulted in excessive blow by and the loss of number 3 cylinder pressure. I am only saying this as a psa to be careful running cats. I know some people don't have a choice but for those that do run them at your own risk.

Yessir! I had the same thing happen to my catted Ultimate Headers with nitrous. I caught mine right when it happened on a pass at the track and a short easy drive home.

If it were me, I’d go for the wrap. I had a chance to wrap my car in a new color a while back, and it was a total game-changer for how the car looked. The headers do add some power and make it louder, but I think the wrap will give you more immediate satisfaction and visual appeal. You could always save up for the headers later if you’re still interested!

@Good_ol_Dave did you notice a drastic change in your exhaust note? Here’s what mine sounded like. It reminds me of a busted up ‘62 Chevy (had to throw that in for my buddy, who’s a Chevy guy, but always sending me stuff about Fords), lol.

Sucks that it happened but a good excuse to try out the texas speed coyote short block. The exhaust note changed but not as drastic as yours. Lol about the chevy.

Time to build it up to handle whatever you want to throw at it.

Was your car smoking and running really rough afterward? How long dI’d you drive it after the failure?

So I was doing 0 to 60 pulls. Car seemed fine. No ruff idle, no issues. I pulled a 3.78 when a roush mustang lists 3.6 so I wasn't off much. At the top of the pull the car made a load noise followed by rattling noise. Rattling noise was present above 4k rpm under heavy acceleration. Motor had an obvious mis. Smoking at idle and also pushing smoke and pressure out of the oil fill location. I drove the car a total of 4 miles after the "event".
