NASTY squeaking from rear suspension !!! Thoughts ?

I wanted to post this not to complain about it but more to add some experience to the forum of which parts 'can' squeak . I'm guessing possibly some grease will solve it so shouldn't be a big deal at all and I'll be going through the components one by one shortly to try and solve it. The squeak wasn't there when all the suspension components were changed. I changed :

Bmr cradle lockout
Bmr vertical links
Steeda adj for arms
Steeda adj camber arms

I drove the car through winter and the squeak started slowly and as it has warmed up its turned downright nasty. I'll be links up all the connection points where there are bushings part by part to try and isolate the squeak and will report back but just wanted to make a post in case anyone has encountered a squeak when installing one of these components and would chime in.

I have a few videos but I'll just say it's squeak through the entire suspension movement especially through dips coming from the rear.

I'd imagine it's one of your last three parts you listed. Are any of them delrin bushing?

my car and others i worked on had this issue as well. make sure you lubed the vertical links and also make sure ALL of the hardware for the subframe and uprights are properly torqued. i have found this to be a big factor in squeaks, do not trust the air gun you must torque by hand with a real torque wrench. try this when you can and report back. I now use Prothane sticky grease on every component on these cars when i work on them for friends or myself. you can order a tube through summit, worth having around the garage.

Definitely agree I was thinking maybe the camber arms or toe and the bushed end and didn't think the vertical links had enough rotation in them to squeak. Going to start with the vertical links (they are the Delrin ones - wish I had went spherical). Bmr forgot to send the bolts with them and said they would send them 30x I just gave up emailing them figure they're too busy to remember me but I reused the upper bolts and if i remember right they have a flat washer on the head I'm thinking it might be the reason the bushing is squeaking on it.

It will be the BMR vertical links, remove them, put stockers back on and your noise will go.

I assume your have the ones with a delrin bush? If so I had exact same issue a squeak/creak when going over imperfections in road. I had the spherical/delrin version and delrin bush was the issue, Kelly being top guy he is sent me a spherical bearing to replace the delrin and now silence is golden.

Everything was torqued with a quality torque wrench to specs (+5 lbs for anything over 100 lbs). Did check the subframe bolts all were tight .

It doesn't take much movement to make noise when they're torqued down. It's very, very likely to be your delrin bushings in the vertical links. I'd replace with stock and if you still want aftermarket ones, get the BMR ones with spherical bearings on both ends or any of the others available.

Not to try and hijack this thread but I am having the same issue. The only weird thing is mine did not start making this noise until after we got all the rain in houston. And it doesnt start making the noise until after the car/suspension is warmed up and i am moving slowly. Doesnt matter if i am goin over bumps or not. Driveabilty of car hasnt changed it just now pops, sqeeaks, and grinds after the flooding. Any ideas?

As I said higher up it shall be the vertical links delrin bushes, re-fit stock items and if all is quiet you need spherical bearing for your vertical links.

As for the squeaking noise, it very well may be the vertical links. I have seen this with all brands with the Delrin bushings, and is one of the reasons I am personally not a fan of them. IF you get enough of the good sticky grease on them initially, it goes a long way though.

Thanks everyone ! One reason I wanted to post up is I have heard it mentioned on occasion but google searches all turned up nothing for me when trying to search 'squeak'.

I believe for now, the problem is SOLVED ! I just had an hour before coming into work but I got the wheels off quick and removed the lower bolts and lubed them with grease that I had laying around. Squeak is 95% gone. The teeny noise I have now likely could be from the other pieces but I do need to do some work to mod the rear coilovers etc. I will listen carefully after work but pretty sure majority of the squeak was the lower Delrin bushing . I took a few pics I will post them shortly

Few pics of the lower end link mounting point. You can see the rotation of the end link. I was pretty sure I did use some grease but clearly not enough.



You can see in this picture the shape of the aluminum mounting point actually cut some Delrin away on the bushing



I didn't have much of the clear energy suspension grease so I used this stuff that I had. Probably not the best stuff to use but it's what I had and I used it liberally on all sides and point in contact.



I have a few ideas on how to help these from making noise in the future
