I've tried a few different tire dressings (I used to use Meguiars products mostly but recently switch to Adams products and Griots). Most of the dressings I've tried only seem to last a week before I need to re-apply to keep that nice semi-gloss finish.

Has anyone got a recommendation of a tire dressing they use that lasts a while?

Thanks in advance!

Tim

JUST SAY NOOOOOooooooooooo !! I hate tire dressing, always gets all over the wheels & fenders :tsk:
If anyone puts it on my car @ the dealer, I make them wipe it all off before I leave.

Lol as long as you use it sparingly and don't be too liberal with the dressing, it doesn't get everywhere.

I don't like the super glossy tire finishes. I just use something like Meguir's to give it a more natural but newish look. To keep it off the wheels, I have a piece of stiff foam the same diameter as the wheel and hold it in place while spraying. That's my redneck solution. Keeps most of it off.

Head to the parts store and pick up a box of Turtle Wax Jet Black. I put it on my tires in January and it's still shining. Not a heavy gloss but still shining 4.5k miles and lots of washes and rain storms later. Be real careful if you have light colored wheels.

A pic from last nights Mustang night.

Amor all foam works fine for me and not super glossy.

I use the Meguiar's Insane Tire Shine and it's the best I've ever used. I usually let it sit for about 10 minutes, then wipe off any excess.

IMO, if you have gloss black wheels, it's almost imperative that you keep the sidewall looking glossy as well. Otherwise the tire being more gray/flat than the wheel looks like crap.

chemical guys natural shine on the plastics and tires. not greasy at all and nothing will sling unless your a moron who piles it on. give the tires a slight shine. pretty good stuff. If you want the wet look though it won't give that. It will just give a little clean looking shine. uv protection in it too.

Well, then you are using the wrong dressing.
A good dressing should not fling.
I use Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel. Smells good and looks sharp.

I use this armor all gel shine stuff, came with an application tool to apply it with. Looks really nice for about 2 weeks, and stays decent looking for another 2 weeks before you need to re-apply.

Never really understood the need for shiny tires - to each his own ..... ;)
