The handbag threat

Wow! I have no issues with my Coach purse and all of the zippers and metal buckles being in my car. I have never had any damage done to any vehicle from any of my handbags or those of my friends. Next time one of my guy friends wants to get in my car when wearing True Religion jeans and the button flap back pockets I will ask them to put their pants in the trunk instead of putting a towel on the seat. I doubt that they would be okay with having their pants in the trunk so maybe I will tell them that they can keep their pants on if they climb into the trunk with their pants on and ride in the trunk [emoji12]

Its not only the purses but the rings on their fingers that scratch the handle area. Basically the best way to protect your car is to be single. Maybe I should rethink this relationship. Lol

Thankfully I was able to get the light scratch out using some Scratch-out polish I had

Girls thing I'm such a gentleman because I always open the door for them but I'm really just checking their butt to make sure their pants are okay for my seats. I also offer to carry their bag to the car so that I can put it in the trunk when we get there. Win-win, you keep the car from being mauled and she thinks you actually care about her...

When my girlfriend sits in the passenger seat, her big bag always goes in the center of the floodboards, and then, with her foot space all used up, she ends up sitting "side saddle," with her boots scuffing up the plastic of the lower door frame. I always tell her to reorganize, and remind her that she's more comfortable sitting symmetrically. She also pretty frequently dings the door frame or the door with her boots when she gets into and out of the car. And the only two (admittedly minor) scratches I have are just behind the passenger door, from when she gets out and swings her bag up onto her shoulder.

Luckily my girl loves the car and treats it like a baby. AND since she chooses to carry around a giant bag, I make her carry my stuff in it. That being said, this thread did just raise the alarm that her newest "bag" has huge zippers on both sides so thanks for the heads up. I'm now going to keep an eye out.

i must be behind the times, because my Coach purse isn't full of weird zippers. in fact, it only has two for the center compartments. /shrug

I had this years ago and now have a strict 'handbags in the trunk' rule.

The other thing to watch out for is the 'holding door keys in hand whilst opening the door', again scratching everything up.

That's no lie... within a day of ownership my wedding ring scratched the driver's side handle. :doh:
