Haha, to the OP the first think that popped up on my screen was the ground speed mph and I laughed thinking you were going to bag on Ford but you shocked me by saying it was part of the good. I think it's the goofiest and most awkward part of this his car. I get that we shouldn't take it too seriously and just have fun, but I think it's really really lame. Not a huge deal by any means, but not feeling it.

I can say this is the first Mustang in forever that doesn't have a whole lot I can nit pick at (usually the array of tacked on parts, faux chrome, ride height looking like a jacked up 4x4, ugly wheels, awkward parts here or there that just don't flow, etc) this one they got it almost all right....even the base model looks phenomenal. If I had to pick out one bad thing on exterior Id say the trunk antenna on the verts. That's about it.

Whats the obsession with the toggle switches anyway?
They look good, but if the functions are easy enough to access through the menus they are mostly just appearance, no?
Only kids want menus...
Driving a serious machine, requires serious placement of things. Switches are direct & non-sequential.

BTW: A touch screen/menu just becomes gadgetry at some point.. the Mustang brings back the basics.

The funnt thing about the Speedo is that when I first saw it I thought..."Ground Speed? Is this an airplane" Well like has been said in the thread so far, it is the mustang heritage so I don't think it a bad thought. The revolutions per minute on the tach and the Ground speed on the speedo really just make the gauges look more "busy". I guess its only good because of the thought behind it, I prefer the new gauges over past years, but I also prefer my Roush White Face gauges over all of them.

The one thing I hate about the gauges it the traction control light... why does it have to glow bright orange in my face.. I was the one who turned it off and don't need it glowing in my face to remind me. Of course, I have no idea if its in the same location on the 15.... but I can hope it just lights up some little itty bitty light on the toggle switch!

I like my gadgets, thank you very much! :) Driving a serious machine does not always have to be serious. The gadgets (technology) that makes up new cars are a good thing, but what I hate is having to scroll through several menus to change something that should require one little switch to work. As long as the car is allowed to be enjoyed without the use of gadgets is just fine to me. But sometimes I like playing with the buttons! :D

right..!

That is why non-important things can be digital and menu'tized, while important things are toggles & switches.

I hate techno-glitz, I am a fan of driver-centric cockpits.

I get that, I'm just wondering where comments like
If they are only on the premium arrays, those are going to be called the $4000 toggle switches :)
come from. As if the toggle switches on the console are the deciding portion of a $4k option package. Isn't the major upgrade for the premium trim the leather vs cloth interior? :help:

One thing that was interesting to me is that there is not the word "Mustang" anywhere on the car. Apparently someone has the rights to it somewhere in Europe so its left off all of them. That was according to the Marketing guy that talked to us at the show.
The word Mustang hasn't been on the car since the SN-95 went away. My 2005 doesn't have one anywhere. Back in the 1960s, German truckmaker Krupp owned the rights to the name Mustang, leading Ford to badge cars sold there as the T5 https://media.ford.com/content/ford...stang--not-a-mustang--when-its-a-ford-t5.html

However, Krupp's trademark expired in the mid-70s and Ford owns it now so S550 will be Mustang everywhere it's sold even if the word doesn't appear.

OK... so I keep getting proved wrong... I was only going by what I was told. :) Either way, I never realized it. I think mine says ROush in about 250 locations... a little subtle. Haha.

There is no doubt to me that the car is a mustang, does not matter if the name is there or not. I am really looking forward to seeing some reviews from the press once the car is in their hands, I am sure it will be picked apart for the good and the bad, and I would bet that the IRS will be at the top of the list!

Now... when are we going to get those HP numbers!

Got 4 wheels
I would like to see the WAZE application in the new mustang.

Chrome? The ones I've seen we're not chrome, they were aluminum...
Looked like chrome on my phone. :headbonk: Now hopefully they are in real Aluminum and not some cheap plastic.

The only thing I like about the interior is that they put the tach & speedo on the correct sides so the steering wheel doesn't cover the usable ranges of the gauges!
