I was at my local Cars & Coffee this morning in Boca Raton. New venue. I was quite excited to attend and I spent no less that 6 hrs prepping the car for the show. Great Mustang turn out with GT350's, GT 500's, Shelbys, Roush cars ect. I was backed into a spot with nobody to my left. I got home when all was said and done and discovered a door Ding on the drivers side just above the character line mid door. Pissed, disappointed, discouraged, and friggin' angry. A PDR guy can get the depression out as it's fairly small, but the clear coat doesn't look like it took the tag all too well. I haven't even told the spouse unit about it yet.

Stupid people hurt everyone.

I'm bent but will get over it eventually.

Bummer but it's just a door. I cant believe how much interest the C&C get compared to the local autocross. I see a lot of posts on the local mustang fb group about meeting up and driving in together lol all these packs of shiny mustangs I mean if detailing is your thing whatever have fun. I had to stop going to autox when they stopped doing it in Broward and started doing in saint lucie which is way too far let alone on Sunday mornings 4+ hours of commuting to drive on a parking lot is stupid

I like the C&C shows for the variety of stuff that shows up. And, no, I am not the biggest fan of cleaning/detailing but I do enjoy the end result. Now let me just fight through parking the car in the garage for a while as I stew and find a good detail shop with a skilled PDR person.

I've never autocross'd before as I'm paranoid of tearing my stuff up but I'd I had a beater that was funto toss around I'd be into it.

I HATE when that happens, good friend took his Mach 1 in for a recall and the hood afterward had a scuff and a dent with broken paint in 2 places. Looks like a tool got dropped on it while in care of the dealer... That SUCKS...

I like variety, C&C style shows, Mustang Specific shows, but I do love to DRIVE... Hit this milestone today (had 4300 when I bought in September)..

Autocross is literally cones on a parking lot; you're not gonna tear up your car. Give it a try; you might find a new passion that can be a whole lot of fun.

That sucks, but it is a car to be used. It now just has it's first battle scar. I'd roll with it.
That said, you'd think those that are at a cars and coffee would be more careful to not ding another persons ride.

Don't own a car if you're afraid if getting a ding or dent. Can even happen in your own garage!

Since I got the Mach 1 April 2022 and then the C-8 April 2024 I have gone to a lot of car shows. People try to help out with parking, but not always great help. Backing the C-8 is a camera only affair adding to the drama. I try to arrive early and scout out a safe spot. Lol
The Dickweed that did it should have left a note. Get back in the saddle, the shows are a lot of fun.

What really sucks that it’s another car enthusiast. I would expect it from all of our good citizens who have lack respect for other people’s property.
On another note my garage is my worst enemy. Most of the time I have to put my hand on the door edge to keep from door dinging my wife’s Ridgeline and vice versa when exiting the passenger side of the truck. Two car garage is really a 1.5 car garage due to storage cabinets.
It’s not very good pic but you can get an idea how close I have to park my Mustang to the cabinets without swapping paint. Good thing I’m 5’ 7” and 150 or I couldn’t egress my car without moving the truck out.

Man I agree with that. Mine is a rather narrow 1 car, and after banging my door against my block wall a couple times I finally put a foam knee pad on the wall to guard my door edge... I am my own worst enemy...

My daughter had the same issue with her Mustangs at her previous condo with a narrow single car garage.

I wouldn't worry so much about "tearing up" your stuff. Autocross puts wear on your tires, but the rest of your car should be pretty resilient.

See, I bought this car with 160,000 miles on it.
240SX 42889852.webp

It now has over 246,000 miles, but I can't keep track very well because the odometer failed and it has a newer one now.
The 80,000+ miles I put on it include several seasons of autocross, 5 or 6 track days, and a bit of misbehavior when no one was looking.

What's wrong with it? The 2007 paint job started peeling in 2015, and the electrical system is going to heck because the wiring is old and brittle.

Every "cone rash" so far has just been a line of schmutz that came off with the next wash.

My Evo's cone damage was from a track day, when I made an "agricultural excursion". So, now I need to replace one fender liner.

My Mustang is going to do autocross one day, and probably do some laps around a track.
