The trunk opening is a major peeve of mine on my 2001. The trunk is plenty big enough if you just need to carry around a boatload of toothpicks.

I can't see anybody owning a mustang as their only vehicle because of it. DD with an SUV or truck on standby? Sure. But not as their only vehicle.
My mustang is my DD, my wife drives a C350 so we do have a practical car in the family, but I have put three sets of golf clubs in my car, carried bags of mulch from Home Depot, and for teh most part not needed anything more. Of course, there are days I wish I had my truck back, but those are few and far between.

Thanks MustangSteve for the info, especially the video. My point on the trunk is that it still has a small opening. There is a decent amount of room inside but sometimes getting the stuff you want in there can be a challenge. Its a small sacrifice for a great car.
I posted the pony pic, not because it was something new, but because its one of the many ponies across the car, interestingly one of the few I actually got a picture of.
One thing that was interesting to me is that there is not the word "Mustang" anywhere on the car. Apparently someone has the rights to it somewhere in Europe so its left off all of them. That was according to the Marketing guy that talked to us at the show.

As a gadget guy... I will have the premium and love the idea of memory seats adn mirrors. Although right now the electric seat just went out in my 11... so maybe a good old fashioned seat would be alright!

I prefer the 2013 guages ANYDAY to the 2015's....that is one of the issues Ihave so far is the interior is not that much of an improvemnt esp the cluster. I like the toggles and the cupholders but thats about it. Pushbutton is ok too. However I love line lock, that is sick.
While I think the 2013 gauges are a little more stylish looking, I also think that style affects their function. To me, the squished font is harder to read. It's one of the first things I noticed when going from my '95 to my 2012. I think the 2015 gauge styling and font is very consistent with the cockpit theme: functional, purposeful and intuitive. I do think the 'Ground Speed' label is maybe a little corny, but that's a really minor thing.

You nailed it. Those are about as plain as it gets. Leaves some room in the aftermarket to design a little more visually interesting gauge cluster for me. I don't like overly busy but I don't like overly boring either. Oh well a gauge face isn't a deal breaker in the least.

Will we be able to control the color of the lighting in the gauge cluster?

Can do so even on my 2012... Would be very surprised if the 2015 did not have this.

The pictures from ford of the LE interior show the gauges, halos and floorboard/door panel/cup holder in all different colors. So I would put quite a bit of money that it retains the "my color".

Our Michigan Spur of the Mustang 50th Pony Drives to Norman OK, was treated to about a half hour walk through of a GT Coupe at Ford World HQ by the 2015 Mustang Product Manager Mark Schaller. Mark was very passionate in his description of the efforts Ford made to address issues with style, quality, materials, and finish of previous Mustangs and how they were addressed in the 2015. You are already familiar with most of the items that he discussed. He mentioned that our discussions on Mustang forums are a large part of the material they use to make their decisions.

I had to ask Mark how could Ford afford after so many listed improvements to sell the 2015 Mustang at anything near the previous prices. Mark said that that was an issue that took a lot of creative accounting work, but it will happen.

He also told us that Ford is struggling with how best to photograph the 2015. They are also experiencing the phenomena that the car looks far different and better live than in any of their attempts so far to photograph it.

I have seen five of them live so far and for each one I let my eyes run over every inch of the car as if I were washing it with a small wash mitt. In looking at every part of the car in that way, I could not find any line or curve that I felt was out of place or was bulky or awkward. To me, the lines of the car are unique, classic, and perfect. Once we see it in racing livery I am certain that we will all be convinced that it will be a classic.

I think the "ground speed" thing is part of the overall P-51 Mustang fighter cockpit theme. Obviously ground speed vs air speed is an important distinction for pilots, but unless this car can fly they could probably have left it out. Personally, I could take it or leave. Doesn't evoke any emotion in me one way or the other.

On the topic at hand,

The good:

-Interior plastics look much better
-Remote entry and push button start
-Toggle switches are a very nice touch

The bad:

-Base radio w/o MFT looks like crap
-A bit too many chrome accents for my liking
-The freaking prop rod is still there
-No performance pack with auto trans (not confirmed but hinted)
-Perf. pack wheels are black, and I personally am tired of the blacked out wheel trend
I agree with Wildcat. Although, one could make an argument for simplicity of prop rod. Don't care at all for black wheels with performance pack, wish there was an option for something else...anything. I suspect auto transmission with performance pack will show up a little later...it's already done with 50th anniversary, so why not if you can get some more customers.

More information including test drives etc. when the car gets here would be nice before making any judgments at this time. I may be looking at getting one in a year or two, depending on the special edition carrots they dangle in front of me.

I couldn't have said it any better myself, John. While I've only gotten to see one S550 in person, it definitely sold me on its aesthetic; I love it.

I agree, for the most part about the lines on the car and how much better it looks in person. I still wish they would have got that front valence a bit better though, I like the look straight on, but from an angle the lines are off by alot. Seeing the 14 and the 15 side by side shows how much it really changed and the changes are all pretty good. I am still adjusting to the new Grill but it screams Ford (maybe not so much mustang, yet) The rear is no doubt Mustang, and the lines! Love the way the rear Quarters are designed. Again, should be interesting as the aftermarket "fixes" the issues we have and allows us all to make the new mustang more the way we like it... after all Modding it can be as much fun as buying it. Mustangs come in so many varieties to fit so many tastes and the aftermarket is going to make this one insane.

Dislikes

1st. Center stack audio area is too busy unless it has the 8" nav screen.

2nd I'd rather see them ditch the chrome toggles and go with a brushed aluminum toggle switch.

3rd. The interior lighting better not be greenish/blue... IMO its the worst color for night time driving... Red or the Amber/Orange (like in BMW) is easier on your eyes for night time driving. Something I'll possibly have to fix once I get one.

The good,

1. Overall design and improved chassis.

2. IRS.

5. 5.0L :headbang:

You can pick whatever color you want. Since 2010 at least, you could choose 3 different color settings(ambient lighting, cluster, cluster halo) for a total of 125 combinations and even save up to 3 custom colors from RGB scales.

Good to know, wasn't sure if that was an upgrade feature or stock.

Some people are new to Mustang's heritage, so their comments are just misplaced.

I like the Black, just wish there wasn't such a "tunnel" around each gauge.

Whats the obsession with the toggle switches anyway?
They look good, but if the functions are easy enough to access through the menus they are mostly just appearance, no?
