I know this is my first post here. Please don't think I'm trolling.
A little back ground on me. I am a GM guy. I've owned many Corvette's and Camaro's. But I truly like the new 15' plus body style especially the Roush stage3 and GT350. I've started looking into them and found something that is alarming to me. There are over 100 2015 Stage3 Roush cars on Cars.com alone.

That fact lead me to dig deeper and I am seeing a lot of hate due to the Cost and fake scoops.

My question is, I buy cars and sell them on a yearly basis. Cars are a hobby of mine. I buy them at good prices so I don't get hurt when I sell (hence buying a new 15'). Is this hate towards the R3 legitimate? Should I stay clear of them.

Please, before I get comments like "it's my money and I should buy what I want".
I get that but that won't help me on resale.

fake scoops are not the reason why there are 100 rs3's out there.

it's a 60-70k mustang is why

there is no real hate... just internet a holes.

roush has been successful with rs cars for long time. there is not magical about resale value on roush car though. they're still eb, v6s, and gt's.

Roush cars have been very popular with the Mustang community over the years and I don't think that has changed with this new model. Yes there are fake scoops, but there's also real power in the upgraded models. Many people on here have purchase Roush Aero parts as well as CAI, Exhaust, Pedals, interior and other bits, but a Roush is numbered and that gives it a certain preference. These cars cost a lot more than their regular counterparts and from what I have seen resale can be higher than average, but with any Specialty model that's not direct from Ford, Resale in the first year or so can be tricky. Some dealerships wont want it because they cant resell it, or cant find a dealer who will take it ( I work in the dealership world so I know what I speak). If you trade the car in for another Ford, you'll get more money but either way, its TIME that make a Roush or even a Saleen, worth money.

Bottom line, if you're not keeping the car its best just to get a GT and enjoy it.

Roush and Saleen are boutique cars with a premium price for their number plate and exclusivity. Some buy them thinking they will be worth more money down the road. There's just too many of them to really go up in value.

If you are looking strictly for bang for the buck, you could build a GT for less and perform better. Throw on an $8500 Whipple which has more power and piece out the suspension parts to your liking and keep a bunch of money in your pocket when done.

You can even buy the body parts from Roush and Saleen if the style is what you want.

At the end of the day it is still a factory mustang with bolt on parts.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I would like to have the Roush car as I wouldn't be paying anywhere near MSRP for it.
If I can get one for what I want to pay then I won't be far off from getting a loaded GT Premium and building it part by part.

One of my real concerns is if the market is smaller come time to sell the car? Again, with all the internet hate I'm reading on them, is it plausible?
I don't want used but I was offered a 2015 with 3,xxx miles for $48 which could be purchased for less obviously. That's $20,000 plus of depreciation! I know all cars depreciate.

What do you guys the true enthusiasts think of them?

I would get a GT350 but between the mark up and lack of allocations that's not an option for me.

The hate is because of the price. It's like Roush slapped ADM and then Ford dealership slaps on additional ADM. Everybody wants a piece of the $$$ and it's not worth it.

Knock down the price and they will sell like McD's hot-cakes. Hate gone.

Build a GT, or get the GT350. You can buy a premium PP GT for 39k, put the extra 8-10 grand the Camaro costs into it and have a 10 second car. That's why I own chevy trucks and a mustang lol.

I could see that.

But when I read the comparisons between the GT350 and the Roush no one stated cost being an issue. It was the hate of the "stick on panels" and outdated 5 spoke wheel.

I get that in today's world they should be functional but I don't think they are ugly!

All that being said, there has to be a reason there are so many unsold.
If price is the issue why are the 16's following suit?

Show of hands. If they were priced say at $50,000. Who would purchase one?

The reason I think is there isn't really that hard to mod a GT to Roush. The difference is warranty. There will be people spending 80k/90k for one but when you are spending that kinda money on a Mustang, people would rather buy something else.
I know if I am dumping 90k on a car, I am getting a Corvette Z06.

That is $13k over what I paid for my 2016 GT, and which is double the value of my planned mods list.
So yeah, No to Roush for me.

If you turn over cars quickly, get something fun for now, and keep watching for a little-used 350 in a year or two.

(Now where's the smilie for FirstWorldProblem?)

I personally would have at least an rs2 if the markup wasn't so high. I can just put all the r7 stuff on my gt and saves thousands... if I want to make my own rs3... ALOT of thousands saved, ALOT... that's the reason why I don't own a roush car. I could care less about numbers and roush's signature... I don't intend on getting rid of the car soon either.

I already got the roush spoiler, had the fascia but it got damaged and had to send it back...I wanted the side and hood scoops at one point in time as well but I think I can live without them.

I might buy one if price was $50k OTD. Problem for me is they took the RS3 a little too far. I like the look of the quad exhaust, but it seems to me to be too damn loud. As for the fake scoops, not a big fan of the side scoops but could live with them. I don't like the scoops over the back windows due to loss of visibility. I like the design of the Roush heat extractors, but don't like the texture or flat black color. Love the hood scoop and the front end looks ok too. Don't care about the suspension upgrades either. At nearly 60, I don't really race that much any more. I would love the SC though. The 670 HP for me would be perfect. Not too much, but more than the run of the mill Camaro, Vette, Charger, Challenger, or Mustang GT. When I was 30, I would have bought a Roush for $50K in a heartbeat.

Someone didn't read OP. He wants to resell. Mods will decrease value if anything.

If you want the power of a RoushCharged, then get it and try to resell for minimal loss. Otherwise, get a GT

I just bought a brand new mustang today and they have a rough stage 3 for less than $70k. Call JC and tell him that Emerson is sending you and you may end up paying less. Link to the site:
