Love this forum already… I’m from the old school mustang and c6 corvette world but took a wrong turn and ended up in euro garbage world with a conservatively tuned 135i that shit the bed and ended up with a bent rod. I knew not to mess with that euro trash .., learned the hard way! No one’s on their forums either. Glad to be here everyone!

I've wrapped badges before with vinyl. You can get all different colors on Amazon....3M or VVivid. It's not difficult to apply with a little practice.

If you try to scuff the badges, you'll probably get inconsistent results and it will probably just look off.

To add to @TonyNJ idea, I got a vinyl overlay for my GT badge as I wanted something other than black that wouldn’t totally blend into the tail panel. Found this on eBay, they’re also on Etsy

Yea @Gargoyle. Vinyl wrap is the way to go. Especially since there already inexpensive pre cut kits out there.

Well, this is an interesting learning opportunity! (And I might have to change my badges!)

If you stick to the metric bore and stroke (93mmx92.7mm), 5.038L is correct, which converts to 307cid. If you use 3.63inx3.65in it works out to 302cid. The problem is that 93mm=3.661in and 92.7mm=3.650in.

The question is, which bore is correct - 93mm or 3.63in cause they ain't equal! Lol.

I would average them together...you can get custom 304.5ci badges made...

Thinking out loud …
Got a black 2020 GT 5.0 auto PP1.
It’s being delivered tomorrow from carvana! I usually murder all my cars all black but this time I’m not sure. If I put black 5.0 and GT badges you can’t see them at all and then it looks like an eco boost. But I hate chrome so my idea is scotch bright pad em and make them look like brushed nickel anyone tried this yet? Opinions please?
I love the kind of Nickel coating that it looks like when you do that. I would try it for sure.

FWIW I popped out the plastic chrome pony from the wheel center caps, scuffed them with steel wool, sprayed them with etching primer, a couple layers of Race Red base coat and 3 coats of gloss clear coat.
The photo doesn't really do the color justice but I've been very happy with the results and they have held up perfectly. As you can see it's not very big so, if you decide to try, side badges shouldn't be all that difficult.
