The current Ford Mustangs are doing well, but you have to agree there is a hole at the top of the lineup. zl1 will eat any mustang out there right now. I know Ford has something to compete - just need to get it on the market.

maybe not ford directly but there is no shortage of roush cars out there that come with 670hp and 3 way adjustable coil overs.

Not too much closer. While the ZL1LE has a back seat, it's a light, fixed setup versus the normal, heavier fold-down version you find in other Camaros.

You may be right on that, but the Zl1 1LE comes fully loaded with heat and cooled seats, rear sensors, PDR, HUD, lane change, all carpets and mats. Much more loaded then the R.

I could only imagine what people like you would say if the gt500 were compared to the z28. A car with 124 more hp and 221 more tq with near equal weight sure as hell better be faster.

GM couldn't beat the GT350R with a na camaro so they had to add a blower.
Not to mention the NEW zl1 isnt any faster in a straight line than a 4 year old GT500. If the gt500 had better tires the gap in the turns would close.

Didn't Vorschlag just weigh a 2017 ZL1 and it was 3930-3940lbs with 3/4 tank of gas? I saw the post and scale weights on FB in the last 2 days.

What is the 1LE option expected to do from a weight savings?

The R beat a 5th gen Zeta platform with more HP and less weight by a little over a sec and you think that is great? :shrug:The 1LE Alpha platform has already beat the z28 time on two tracks, so you think it takes a blower to beat the R?

How great is it of GM to release the zl1 a few months ago and get camaro lovers running to the dealers to buy the"fastest" camaro ever! And now another ploy to throw on the camaro lover a "3" second faster camaro.
If I was dumb enough to be a camaro guy I'd be pissed if I just bought a zl1 just to now learn the zl1 1le is out.
