The thing is Ford is dominating in sales so they know what they are doing, they will bring out another special edition but it's anyone's guess as to when. If Chevy was winning the sales race they would bring it out faster, but with Chevys sales being so lackluster Ford can wait. Something good is coming, likely in 2019, patients:ford:
This^^^^

So you are suggesting not to buy Ford and teach them a lesson, since Ford is punishing us customers even though they are taking our Benjamins away? I like that idea. Lets retaliate and spread the word DO NOT BUY FORD! Lets see what happens next!

I find it funny more than a couple times it's been mentioned that Ford is lazy and catering to the rich.

This is farthest from the truth. The ST line is proof of that. I know Voodooo commented on the fiesta, but truth is Ford is leading there too. The just announced ST has a three cylinder, DI/PI 1.5L with cylinder deactivation as well. It'll be lighter, better economy, faster AND more powerful. It'll be one of the best sounding hatchbacks ever too.

This will be 22-25k again and a riot I can assure you.

That said, ford performance is global. I wonder if they're counting Europe only vehicles in their 12 by 20 count. Fiesta ST200 last year was pretty cool.

I wish they still had plans to release the RS500. What a blast that would have been.

Dont forget about the Raptor. FiST, FoST, FoRS, F150 Raptor, GT350/R, Ford GT.

Theres always panic in these forums from people that never road raced in their life. They are quick to say the GT350 needs more power like 650hp, having never driven one on the road course. And because Ford doesnt have a 6xxhp car in their lineup thats under $70k ford is taking a major loss... STUPID!!!! :headbonk:

Ford has a portfolio that caters to nearly everyone, Fwd turbo, AWD turbo, sport truck, v8 rwd sports car, and their supercar. Yea they dont have a 6xxhp v8, but that doesnt mean they are "losing". :tsk:

I guess toyota is losing because they dont have shit to show for a performance car.

The gt350 actually doesn't need more hp, it just need a serious diet. Look at Porsche for example, gt3, cayman gts and other non turbo versions. If your car is light enough then you are golden. Heavier the car gets, more hp and torque it requires, plus more rubber not to just put power down but also to keep the car on track. Look at the damn rubber on the zl1 1le. If the current gt350 was a sub 3400 lb car, it would have run circles around the competition. In fact all mustang line up would have run circles around the competition!

True, the ZL1 1LE weighs only 63lbs more then the GT350, yet is fully loaded with every option. You add the elec package to the GT350, then there is only a 33lb difference. A FI car should not be this close in weight compared to a NA car.

Damn right, we don't see to many toys at the drags. There is a lot more drag racers and drag strips than road courses. It costs a lot more wear and tear, and money to do it too. Most of the time you guys ain't even racing, just going around like 3/4's.
You road course guys are such snobs. Screw everybody else, go buy a Fiesta or some other 3 cylinder shit box right. I want a V8 acceleration monster, and I'm not the only one. It ain't good enough, and I bet sales will start to suffer, especially if they over price the 18. This is a competition, any they got nothing for the ZL1. Wait till the R gets trounced in a head to head in the magazine, we going to have you eat some yellow mustard instead of your grey poupon.

I'd like to say, don't get me wrong, I think the 350 is a great car. It was excellent when it came out. But 3 years is a long time, and chevy has came and went past us where it counts. I don't really care who sells the most, they don't give out trophies for that at the track.

If you think about it, its another fuck you from Ford, the attitude that they can sit on their lazy ass cause the MGT sells well cause it "prettier" than an SS. Oh, and lets see how long the SS stays where its at when the 18 finally breaks cover, chevy probably is upping the 18 SS now too. This game doesn't treat stagnation very well.

You about to make me test drive a Chevy Ford, I'm just saying.

Go buy a Cobra Jet. End of story. :D
I got a low nine second super gas car already, and I love my Boss, but I'm ready for some boost, preferably turbo produced, and pressurizing 8 holes, not 6.

They release the largest production FPC V8 in history, put it in the most affordable platform for said engine and decided to do something special for the GT350 instead of just a FI 5.0...and Ford is lazy?

Just because they're not going the route you think is best doesn't make them lazy. If you want to go test drive a Chevy then go ahead, but don't throw a fit if you jump ship and then Ford releases something after you're gone.

Mind showing me where you seen this weight of the zl1 1le? I find that hard to believe.

From press release. Base ZL1 weighs 3883lbs

Other fun notes:

Over three years of development went into the tires with Goodyear.
The wheels are 19x11-inches up front and 19x12 out back.
That 10-speed automatic transmission Chevy's so excited about? It's not offered.
Dive planes. Need we say more?
This thing is going to be really fast. In fact, it's 3 seconds quicker around GM's 2.9-mile Milford road course than the regular ZL1.
It's60 pounds lighter than the base ZL1, thanks in part to a lighter rear seat and the DSSV dampers instead of the Magnetic Ride suspension.

If you thought the ZL1 was a monster, well, apparently the ZL1 1LE is what it turns into when it gets angry.

Like it is on the SS and V-6 Camaros, the 1LE will be an option package for the ZL1. If you want the ultimate track-weapon Camaro, you'll have to order it.
