So I changed out my pads for the Z26 front and rears. No more brake noise and much less dust. My problem is the brakes rattle now. I thought something was wrong with the front of my car. Had some mods installed and thought the shop dropped something in cowl or whatever. I took everything apart and didn't find squat. The other day I noticed the rattling stopped when I pressed lightly on the brakes. I took the front brakes apart again, bent the top bracket to put more pressure on the pads, and it seems to have made the noise a bit better but the car still sounds like a POS driving in town and going over rough patches.
I did not use the hardware that came with the pads because they were different. I re-used stock hardware and applied plenty of brake grease where needed.
When I apply the brakes, you actually here like a pad slapping the rotor noise also. Strange.
Any help, suggestions, or similar issue experiences would help. Thanks guys!

Sorry got nothing for you. I'm not gonna insult your mechanical abilities and ask you obvious questions. I had zero issues from day one. Pretty straight forward modification. I also used the oem hardware. Post when you figure out what it was.

I’ve got these pads about to be installed. Why didn’t you use the supplied hardware? It wouldn’t fit or was just different than factory?

I installed them this past week as well with the OEM hardware. I’ve driven it to work and back one time (60+ mile round trip) and haven’t heard anything. I would think you are on the right track with the spring though, maybe bend it a little more? Good luck!

Also have Z26 front and rear with no rattling and also used the OEM shims and springs.

The new shims and springs aren’t the correct size.

my 2 cents - Grease the brake pad sides as well (where it touches the calipers) and use a good grease.

When you say OEM shims, did you pull the shim on the back of the factory pads off and install on the new ones?

I didn't/don't have any issues with the Z26.

Make sure the caliper pins are oriented with the bushing correctly, and I would use the hardware that came with the pads. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/rear-caliper-pins-which-goes-where.189588/post-3807088

I didn't see any difference in what came in the box vs oem... perhaps you received an incorrect part/set if clips, etc are different?

Also be sure to use anti-seize brake grease all over the back of the pads and on the edges that seat in the caliper.

I second possible wrong pads for front. Rears are all the same. Brembo fronts or the grey 4 piston calipers?

The front calipers are not the same as the GT350 and the included hardware is incorrect. At least that was the case for me, unless they have changed since then.

The rear calipers are similar to the GT350, but I assume even those are different in some way due to how long it took them to release rear pads for the GT500.

I have been running Z26 in the front for quite a while now with no issues, but I did have a problem at original installation, heard a lot of racket and eventually figured out what the problem was… Hard to imagine this could possibly be your issue, but just throwing it out there.
