On a side note: I've noticed that when I drive the car, let it sit for about 15-20 min, then check the oil while the motor is still warm, the oil level shows higher on the dipstick than when i check the oil when the car has been sitting for a few days...I would have thought the opposite would occur (higher level when motor is fully cooled down/lower level when the motor is still warm). Anyone else notice this?
It depends. I mean hot oil would have bigger volume but if you change too quickly, the oil is not fully drained back to the pan it could be lower. Just check it when cold.

First oil change was at 2500. No issues. Second oil change was 3500 miles later when I went into safety mode. Dealer told me to check it every gas fill up. That seems excessive. They must be covering themselves :ninja:.

2,1xx miles at the end of today's driving the back roads with two 911 non-turbos. They have nothing on this car. Driven very hard the last 400 miles. As close to track days without being on the track if you know what I mean. Oil 1/3 of the way up from bottom of the hash marks to top of hash marks. Looks like another quart is in order. I'll add 1/2 and see where it is at. Still no oil change. Likely going to do first change at recommended interval by Ford. With adding a quart at about every 1,000 miles it is keeping my oil somewhat fresh. LOL.

owners manual says do not add oil if its between thr crosshatch area. also catch cans are a must for these cars. 27k miles on mine and oil level is always the same.

Seems incongruous, doesn't it? If oil level is always the same, catch cans aren't catching anything. Therefore, why are they necessary?

all the oil vapors get pushed back into the intake. after awhile all that gets built up in your top end. i clean out my catch can like every month and a half, and it always has a good amount of oil in it. if my oil level drops at all its not enough to make difference on the dipstick by the time i change the oil again.. i have a picture ill try to post how much it stopped from getting back into motor.

I got my car 3 weeks ago. I put on about 100 miles of mild driving and lots of varying RPM. The next 4000 miles were moderately spirited. I just took a trip back home to NJ and that was 350 miles each way. I down shifted a new times to pass and laid into it pretty hard. Then while in NJ a buddy of mine and I drove it pretty hard for about 20 minutes. Then I drove back today, checked my oil and I have used zero oil. I am happy with the way the rings have seated in on this VooDoo engine.

If you flip the dipstick so the writing is down it will check about 1/2 quart higher than if you flip the dipstick so the writing is up, it will check lower. I noticed if your car isn't perfectly balanced it will read way different. I put it on my lift that is perfectly level and check it. It took all 10 quarts and is just a tad below top with the dipstick writing down on my level lift.
