Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?

Well I certainly don’t. I’m in the middle of bringing 1296 home to SoCal from Seattle. Been cruising the left lane the whole trip, but as I get into Sacramento area, have to go into the right lane to switch freeways. No sooner had I done this, super loud bang from behind the driver’s door. I surmised at the time that the big rig to my front left had kicked up some concrete into me. Next time I stopped.... (see photo)

It’s a risk when you drive cross country I know. But damn, only 24 hours after signed paperwork. *eye roll*

Geesh.... sorry to hear about your misfortune. I always track tape my cars up for transport. If it makes you feel better, that wouldnt have made any difference.

Oh That'll buff right now :D, J/k Sorry to hear your misfortune, and thats why when I bought my '12 C6 Vette from Texas online from a dealership I had it shipped on a enclosed truck.

Dave: I really DO feel your pain as I got my first two dings the other day on the freeway. It sucks but we have to keep remembering...

It's just a car and, it's repairable. You're safe, that's what counts.

I’ve got 2 nice chips in the hood from a trip back from Florida. It is what it is. If you’re too scared to drive the car because of it might get damaged the car is not worth having. Get it fixed and keep enjoying!

When I bought my GT, from a dealer 35mins from my house, a truck kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield on the way home. I was about 5 minutes from my driveway.

Thanks for the kind words and stories everyone.

Like everyone said, it is just a car, and I’m glad I’m safe and all that. I think I would be more ok with it if the impact was in a more likely place, front bumper, hood, windshield, etc. Butt behind the drivers door? Haha.

I’m definitely going to get it fixed. Just have to find a good shop for a reasonable price.

I was definitely tempted to do this. But I couldn’t pass up a company funded, fun break in drive since it was basically the same price as the enclosed trailer

That is so unlucky, sorry to hear that. I had my ‘19 GT/CS for a few days, and the detailer at my job offered to wash my car for me. Who was I to say no? Well he got the pressure washer too close to the side scoop and somehow took 1 square inch of paint off *face palm*

Hey at least it happened in the line of duty, driving the car on American roads. Sorry to see the damage but things happen and at least you have a gt500, that's way ahead of most of us.

Agree completely! I continue to be surprised by the amount of people literally telling me not to drive my car!

It's like, who do you think I am, Jay Leno? I can't afford to spend this much on a car and not drive it!
