Hey at least it happened in the line of duty, driving the car on American roads. Sorry to see the damage but things happen and at least you have a gt500, that's way ahead of most of us.
I definitely count my lucky stars every day that I own a GT500. The car is amazing! And it’ll definitely not be a garage queen. Drive it, have fun, and fix stuff like this when it happens. Only way to do it. I was just hoping to go a little longer before I had to fix something, haha.

Bummer Cap. Agreed, it would have been more humane if it had happened somewhere down the line, not on the maiden voyage, lol. Find a good shop, and you will be good to go. If I could drive this car every day, I sure as well would. Clicked 230 miles last weekend :crying:

Definitely need to get you some more miles. Seattle to Orange County was 1,200 for me. So it’ll be oil change, paint chip repair, paint protection for me and then I should be good to go

Congrats on the new 500 - and don’t sweat the minor blemish.

Look around your area for a good PDR guy who has very good reviews for PDR (or can supply photos of his work). That small dent can be popped out without sheet metal repair or any “filler”. Once that blem is taken care of, then a good body shop can take care of the small chips without a total respray.

You won’t ever know the blem happened after it’s been fixed.

Enjoy the car and best of luck with it!

Any full images of the car you can post?

So I had the paint chips looked at today by a guy who fixes stuff like that; no affiliation with Ford at all. He told me he thought it could be easily fixed by using the Motorcraft ‘Lacquer Touch-Up Paint Pen”. Anyone use this before? Results good or bad?

I picked it up for 13 bucks from the parts department at my local dealer. If it’s as good as he says it is, would be an awesome, easy way to fix small cosmetic problems, especially since it’s got both the base coat and clear coat applicators in the same product.

My dad likes the stuff to touch up paint chips on old trucks. Don't expect it to make it look new but it will definitely help.

Thanks for the info. They’re small enough that your average person won’t notice. So even if it’s not perfect, I’m ok with it. Anything is better than nothing.

My expierence with those is similar to above. Not perfect and you will still see the blemish and know it’s there. It’s not 100% perfect but better than nothing. If a small imperfection is going to bug you, it’s not going to get the job done. If you can live with a minor imperfection, maybe it’s good enough.
I will add for me knowing the cost to have it fixed professionally vs $13, I can live with the blemish and spending only $13. Some cannot.
