Also put steel wool ball in exhaust tips, mice will not touch it and hate the stuff.
Keeps any critters from making a home in exhaust system.
Never happen to me, but a I know a few people it has happened to,
major pain to get it all out and cleaned up.

And write a note to yourself on what needs to be undone when the car comes out of storage, so you won't be shooting steel wool balls against the wall or watch dryer sheets catch fire under the hood. Leave that note inside the car.

Do not go cheap on the battery tender. The cheap ones will over-charge the battery and do it more damage than good. I have a Deltran and a Genius and both work well. We cooked the battery on the tractor with a Northern Tool unit.

Dead Battery

so the car has been sitting for three months and the battery is dead
in the past my cars have been able to hold the charge ?
it has been cold on and off but was surprised to find the battery spent ?

I like to disassemble things.

The battery that comes in the GT350 is rather weak. Trickle charge it or this is the reality with cold weather and little engine/alternator run time.

Dead Battery

I did not unhook the battery
just parked it
my other mustangs have held their charges in the past
it might be true that the lighter GT350 battery is not as strong?

As a fellow with a few cars in storage: CTEK 3300 battery tender, and no need to worry about hydrogen buildup under a car cover with a maintenance-free battery.
+1 on the CTEK 3300

I agree. It takes water to make hydrogen. If your battery doesn't require topping up with water, then there should be no concern about hydrogen.

I use CTEK 3300 too!
+2 ^^^ , my battery has been connected on the CTEK 3300 since November.

A few revs to 8200 RPM should take care of it.

I use a battery tender brand charger. Low output . Connect the positive to the battery and negative to ground on shock tower. Get the one with pig tail. You can feed it up from under the car where exhaust goes down and just plug the pack in to an outlet. When not in use unplug the pig tail part and tuck it away out of site near the fuse box. If you need an extention the do sell them. U can use an extention cord it just needs to be a large enough diameter . U can use your car cover. most tender only deliver a very small charge to keep the battery level up. I installed it last week. It took 30hours to get up to full charge. Now just let go. Long winter in Maine SAD!!!

Good idea. I had a hot-rodded 1950 chevy truck that sat idle for a while; sent a mouse family and nest flying out of the side exhaust. Smelled horrible.
