Hello guys,

Just got a new 22 Mustang, but having problems when opening the passenger door the window rattles because it catches the top of the window trim.

Door seems a bit misaligned but nothing serious so I dont think its that...

Is there another way to fix this? If I open the door slowly this doesn't happen btw and the drivers door works perfectly even when opening fast.

Thanks!

Try resetting the window:

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open.
  3. Release the window control switch.
  4. Lift and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully closed.
  5. Release the window control switch.
  6. Lift and hold the window control switch again for at least one second.
  7. Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open.
  8. Release the window control switch.
  9. Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed.
  10. Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.

Forgot to add, already tried this but still catches... is there another way to make it go down faster?

Not that I'm aware of, sorry!

my Bronco's passenger side window catches every time too, and so did the passenger window on my S197 mustang after the dealer replaced it from a smash and grab (even after trying to reset sequence).

Luckily my S550 windows have been working fine so far.

Thanks Zombie...

So its more of a window mechanical thing than door alignment?

Likely, I think there's some alignment adjustments available if you take the door apart (or at least there were on other cars I've owned with frameless doors) but i can't specifically answer for the S550.

My 2020 GT does it on both the passenger and driver's side. The work around is the following:

I wrap my four fingers around the door latch handle and then put my thumb on the fixed door handle portion. Next, I open the door slightly to the point where the window goes down, but the door still looks like it is closed. Then, once the window drops about a 1/4 inch, I open the door fully.
