What is ironic is the great state of Michigan's residents will be opening their fat wallets to fund the move. Win win in your eyes.....wow
I think looking for property 6-12 miles from the coast would be a good investment.

Butt what if you have a boat?
I have a boat already that's why a new waterfront property appeals to me. When we have melted enough of the polar ice cap and the current coast is underwater, I can better afford being on the waterfront. Better yet, maybe my house will be on the new coast.

Just to mess with you guys...

So I went in a Toyota dealer today. I asked the Salesman, “I want to see the sport model Camry”. You know, the two door, 350ci powered, rwd model like they race in NASCAR.

He was speechless for a good 20 seconds..

Then he told me he would check inventory!!

The “Perfect Call” SHOULD have gone like this..

Trump: Hey President (Ukrainian President). How are you? Hey, that aid money, it’s on it’s way. The United States will help you fend off that asshole Putin! You know he wants to bring the USSR back. Well, it’s been good talking to you. You should come here and visit sometime. Got to go, I need to do some Tweeting. I have a loyal following...

There is one major problem with many climate scientists - and it's not just climate scientists that have this issue. It's any scientist / research program tied to grants for salaries and funding. A scientist or team of scientists are paid to find out whether X=Y. Here's the rub. If those scientists find out that X does not equal Y - then they lose their funding / grants. That's a very simplified overview - but it holds true a good bit of the time.

The other problem is that many of the latest studies are based on FLAWED mathematical models.

Let's take a recent study - one that was quoted and linked by a lot of major media outlets

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-018-0651-8

An independent scientist read the study and found out that the study was based on FLAWED math.

https://judithcurry.com/2018/11/06/...esplandy-et-al-ocean-heat-uptake-paper/#_edn1

This finding was later confirmed by University of Colorado professor, Roger Pike, Jr. The CORE MATH that the entire premise of their study was based on - was WRONG. It happens in science. But when scientist becomes married to politics and PR - it stops being science.

That's just ONE example.

Or we could take James Hansen. The former NASA scientist that testified before Congress in 1988. You know - the hearing organized and pushed by Al Gore? The same topic that made him rich? Hansen is considered by many to be the "Father of Global Warming."

Turns out Gore took the worse case scenario data that Hansen was advised to present to Congress (he presented multiple scenarios - some that didn't reflect realistic events - such as Scenario B - the one Gore RAN WITH).

Hansen has since stated - over and over - that the data Gore used for his Global Warming campaign were NOT Realistic and did NOT reflect realistic climate data. The scenarios / models presented by GORE - which pretty much started the mainstream global warming push 30 YEARS AGO - is garbage.
I’m not convinced that you really understand the scientific method.
Papers get published ALL the time. It’s the process of peer review that keeps everything in check, exactly as you’ve shown in those examples...
Yes, they were wrong, and the system corrected it.
When ~99% of the people qualified to have an opinion, supported by overwhelming “facts” (known data at this point in time) all agree that it’s happening and that we are the most likely cause, I don’t know what else to say.
I’d also like you to show me how a group of scientists can possibly spend years doing research without any funding coming from SOMEWHERE.
Personally, I’d prefer that funding to come from an impartial party (government) rather than a group with a vested interest (big business).

If you think the government is impartial there is no hope for you.

I probably should’ve made that statement more clear.
I didn’t make reference to “the” government, I was referring to “government” generally. (Because there’s more than one of them in the world).
I was also referring to impartiality in its application to the sciences.
I’ll agree, most governments DO have an agenda, typically staying in power.
Strangely, science doesn’t care who is in power or how they feel about the findings and results.
Here in Australia, our last few PMs have been fairly staunch climate change deniers, yet the scientists they’ve funded continue to find the same results, over and over again.
I’d call that “impartial” with respect to that particular conversation.

Because California is a desert, duh? If the liberals want to save the planet, build a rocket ship and leave, then there will be plenty of resources left for us.
No. It's without water because we grow everything that isn't corn and potatoes at the grocery store and you guys eat it every day.

Seriously, no one wants to leave on a rocket. There is no other option. This is our only planet. Like it or not.

Deserts in California make up about 25 percent of the total surface area. The south-central desert is called the Mojave; to the northeast of the Mojave lies Death Valley. ... Indeed, almost all of southeastern California is arid desert, with extremely high temperatures during the summer.
