I hope they decide to release specs soon. I'd like to know if a loaded GT convertible is in the running or not for my next car. I don't want one watered down just because its a convertible or could be an auto.

Expect 3 to 4 weeks for specs. I am sure a loaded GT vert will give you the choices you like or need.

Yes, I think it is completely ridiculous not to offer the PP with automatic.

I don't think anyone is buying a Mustang because they need it and it's the best option for getting from point a to point b.

People buy a Mustang because they want it.
The majority of people want an automatic in their vehicle.

I've always been a Ford guy, but if they are going to make just a very few autos with PP then I'm going to have to look at the Challenger.

Maybe Ford Racing will offer a package. Will have to see the limitations of the IRS first.
Good point. I have a fear that wheel hop will be prevalent with the new IRS. I know I have it big time on my GTO and I have rear drag springs and air bags and it still hops like a motherf'er at the strip. Will be awaiting to see what Ford Racing comes up with. Thanks for reminding me.

Not according to this very scientific poll-->M VS A

Let me give you a little education on polls and statistics.

For a poll to be somewhat accurate, you have to consider the sample size, and obtain a random sample of the general population being studied.

This poll only shows that by a small margin, people who read Mustang G6 prefer a manual in an anniversary edition. I think most of these would be males to start with and most are much bigger enthusiast than the general public.

If you look at how many automatic cars are sold in the US, you will find that the vast majority are automatic.

This is not because automatics are better than manuals, it's simply because that is what people WANT. Ford should provide what people want. The fact that they CAN build it, ARE building it, but WON'T build it for people who want one just don't sit well with me.

For those prospective automatic GT owners who want the PP or at least a Brembo Package with the gloss black wheels. Contact Ford. I sent them an email today. If they get enough contacts maybe they will think about offering it. Never hurts to try. :)

That is my contention with Ford on this one. See my above post and let them know.

After spending a lot of time studying the ILIRS in the 2015 Mustang, comparing it to the 8.8 SRA in the current car and also comparing it to the Mercedes I work on, I'm confident wheel hop won't be as big an issue as it is with the current car. IRS distributes the load to many bushings along the many different angles of the control arms offering increased axle control with similar or less NVH.

The SRA had only 3 control arms all pointed in the same direction taking full acceleration forces. With that setup you either address NVH and install soft rubbery bushings which deflect horribly, or you install stiff bushings which transmit much more noise to the cabin but increase axle control for racing purposes.

I'm betting there will be one or two large bushings that when upgraded will offer huge suspension improvements with minimal NVH increases, likely located on the large lower 'H' control arm. That with good shocks should perform pretty well on the strip.

The hardcore guys will have to show us what really works and what doesn't, but only taking it to the strip will show that for sure.

And proper, scientific polling also takes into consideration the phrasing of the question.

"Between a manual and automatic transmission, which one would you consider more fun to drive?"

VS

If you were purchasing a vehicle today, which type of transmission would you select?

You could have quite a few people who might answer 'manual' for question 1 but answer the second question with 'automatic'

And I would guess the majority of the people who read and regularly post here would be white males between the ages of 25-55. Just a guess. And that certainly is not a representative sample of the buying public.

A poll on a forum like this is about as unscientific as it gets.

Fine. I had thought there was a chance you were being sarcastic. My mistake. It was a 50/50 guess on an internet post, and I guessed wrong.

But this response was pretty uncalled for. Rude, condescending, and personal. My post was none of those things, nor did it insult your education.

Looks like people just need something to complain about. There is 3 dealers in driving distance from me Thaat will order anything you wan't at time of car order and install it when the car comes in. A packiage designed for a manuel track car.Isn't going to be good for a daily driver.
