Looks like people just need something to complain about. There is 3 dealers in driving distance from me Thaat will order anything you wan't at time of car order and install it when the car comes in. A packiage designed for a manuel track car.Isn't going to be good for a daily driver.

So people with the manual and the performance pack won't be driving their cars daily????

If we were concerned about a daily driver we would all be driving a Civic or Prius or taking the bus. Plus that is driving distance from YOU, do you live within driving distance of 100% of the population? Some of us live out in the sticks. Let us be the judge if we like it or not. I don't understand why people can't understand that other people have their own preferences. We all don't think alike. Different strokes for different folks my friend. :)

I drive an 06 gt manuel trans 55 miles a day in stop and go trafic. Banging gears is what makes driving a Mustang so fun. And I am 58 with bad knees. An auta just takes all the fun out of driving.

For you and that is fine. For others of us it doesn't really matter. Everyone doesn't like the same things my friends. Variety is the spice of life.

Your right...I apologize.

GMAN6 is the one that upset me.
I apologize Husker.
Didn't mean to come off all personal and I did suspect that you were being sarcastic.

I get a little aggravated sometimes because Ford is building a car that people WANT not a car that they NEED.

If you are building a car that people NEED then build a car that People NEED.

If you are building a car that people WANT then build a car that the most people WANT.

I mean, that's why they offer different colors. People can get what they WANT. A lot of people, the majority of people, want automatics so I think they should make it in automatic with the PP. Now granted, what I want don't amount to a hill of beans, but there are a lot of other people who want it too and it would increase sales.

Obviously you are very intelligent, but believe me, there are a lot of people on the internet who believe that just because they like a manual, everyone should like manuals and they get into great debates trying to tell everyone else why they should like what they like.

It's hilarious really...

But anyway, if you find any French models, feel free to send them my way:headbang:

While this issue is certainly of no consequence to me -- when it comes to sports cars it's manual all the way for me -- I can certainly understand why those that want an auto would be disappointed by not being able to purchase the PP with it.

I don't think having the PP on an automatic car makes complete sense from a performance standpoint (the PP is intended for track use after all), but I get that there are people that simply like to have all of the performance options on their car, even if they'll never use their capabilities. I mean, honestly that probably describes 90% of the owners of the Z06 Vettes, Porsches and other exotics. For some people, simply having the options on their car provides a level of satisfaction, even if they never use them.

I know we are arguing about this but do we even know what the PP consists of? On a 2014 the Track Pack gets you a 3.73 rear, upgraded brakes and a Boss radiator. According to Ford the 2015 already has upgraded brakes and judging from the hood vents, better cooling. The only thing missing is the 3.73 rear. I know that's a lot but what else could the PP have that we want. I know I want some of the 'bling' that has been shown on the PP like the dash gauges and engine turned dash panel.

Well for me an automatic is a necessity. I currently drive 90 miles one way to work and sitting in DFW rush hour traffic is a no go in a manual transmission automobile.

From Ford.com:

The Mustang GT is powerful. Add a little more dynamic performance with the GT Track Pack and get ready for more attitude on every journey. The GT Track Pack includes:

• TORSEN® helical differential with 3.73:1 axle ratio
• Upgraded Boss® 302 radiator
• Engine oil cooler
• High-performance Brembo™ brake pad friction material upgrade
• Brembo™ Brake Package
• Upgraded front and rear brakes (with unique caliper finish) and booster
• Unique front corner modules
• 19 x 9.0 premium paint (dark stainless) aluminum wheels and 255/40-19 summer-only tire
• Tire mobility kit (HJBAB)
• Unique ESC module tuning

Available on coupe model with manual transmissions only
TORSEN® is a registered trademark of JTEKT Torsen North America, Inc.

If I had to guess I'd say maybe the oil cooler and the Boss radiator have no provision for the automatic tranny cooler that is usually part of the regular radiator. Also the ESC module tuning would have to be different for the automatic with it's different ratios, which also require a different gear set for the TORSEN rear end. Just conjecture on my part.

The V6 Performance Package includes the following:

• Choice of automatic or manual transmissions (coupe only)
• Strut-tower brace
• Larger front sway bar and SVT rear sway bar
• Unique front springs
• Unique front and rear calipers with performance friction pads
• 19” painted aluminum wheels
• 255/40-19 summer-only tires
• Unique stability control calibration
• Gloss black side mirrors
• 3.31 limited-slip rear axle

This package is much simpler and probably less expensive than the GT package and doesn't change any of the driveline components or cooling system like the GT package, so it's no problem with either stick or auto.

So maybe that's why you can't get the GT Track package with an auto. You also can't get it with a convertible. Don't know why in that case.

In a country where automatics are such a massive part of the market not offering PP on the GT automatic or the convertible is nothing but another giant screw up by Ford.

Just like the stupic black wheel only option on PP, the forced leather on premium models, the unavailability of heated Recaro's and the piss poor shade of yellow.

They just should have come up with a different PP for the autos -- coulda been more limited, but as is they are just missing out on sales. I think by 2016 model they'll have whipped something up.

There's room and there's possibilities... and Ford just proves all this by
1. offering the LE with auto and PP
2. offering the one-off LE convertible with auto and PP

Further it seems all Ecos can have both auto and PP, so this seems just like a way to keep the LE GT more special... my guess is next year (or the after) you get PP and auto on GT verts ...
