I have the FitcamX but haven’t installed it yet. No particular reason, just haven’t gotten around to it. But with the way most people drive these days, it’s a good thing to have. I will probably get something for my wife’s car too, haven’t decided which one yet

Same reason I'm looking into them. Too many crazy ass drivers on the road, and cops with quotas to fill.

After reviewing footage from my dash cam, I realized how much I cuss when driving. It is bad.

I have front/rear cams in all of my cars and hate driving without them.

Like many other people, the reason I picked the fit cam was because of the integrated OEM look. Last time I had it at the dealer they had no idea they were being recorded lol.

I just went to the fitcamx website and now I regret my RedTiger Amazon cameras! If mine ever go out, I know what to replace them with.

The tech noted on my invoice that he discovered I had the fitcamx and it is probably why my fairly new battery died. Fvcking idiot.
New battery was the wrong one installed by the dealership I bought my car from. They told me to just pay for the correct battery and email the invoice for reimbursement. Had my check two days later.

I got mine primarily for small town cops that try to harass every loud car that comes through. lol. I got a ticket for 20 over. I didn’t say a word to the officer other than, “you initiated your stop about 1:35? A: yes.” Thank you. Went to court. Pulled video with GPS. Judge tore his ass in the court room.
Umm any chance you could answer this? Or are you still in litigation?

How does that work in a court, by just asking the officer what time it is lol
My guess is he wanted to be sure what time to look at in the video/GPS recording.
And perhaps to have a verbal cue in the video, to confirm that he's showing the right interaction with the right cop.

And the judge chewed his ass for that?

I'm still guessing here but,
if the cop claimed the car was going 20mph over the speed limit, and GPS showed that it wasn't and came with signs that no one had tampered with the GPS data,
I can see a judge chewing out a cop for a false accusation.

I had him confirm time of stop and pulled the entire video form 1 minute before the stop up till he confirms on the same video what time he initiated the stop. My speed was 37 in a 35. Wrote ticket for 55 in a 35. Judge was very mad at the officer for lying. Puts everything the officer has touched in jeopardy. I’m a litigation paralegal and an ex-deputy sheriff by trade. So I deal with this stuff for a living and knew exactly what I needed to get the ticket tossed.

Judge chewed on him for falsifying a record. I was doing 37 in a 35 he wrote the citation for 55 in a 35.

That's awesome, I didn't know uncalibrated GPS from china made dash cams were permissible in court!

For traffic court… yeah man. lol. Even if it was some murder case it’s getting in 90% of the time. It’s a licensed product with GPS. It’s, in theory, just as accurate as any other type of gps product. (This one is dead one) The burden of proof is on the state. They could spend 10-20 grand to have a lot of them tested, then say they are unreliable, but not going to through all of that for a speeding citation. As long as the electronics are purchased new, have certifications, you’re more than most likely getting it into evidence.

Also, I’m sure some states have different rules of evidence, but I work in 5 states and we use cheap dash cam footage in all of our cases, speed, location, whatever. Never had a dash cam tossed for any reason.
