Why I got a dash cam

After a bunch a ridiculous encounters, I installed a Fitcam X front and rear setup last fall. Today was a perfect example of why.

Front view shows a gold POS minivan with his ass end out in the road, so I drove around him. The next right turn is our housing plan. Rear view shows him being pissed enough to follow me into the plan for some reason. I passed my house and right when the video ends, I drove into a cul de sac and he turned. The plan is a loop so I went home and parked in the garage, and a few seconds later he flew past out of the plan.

For the life of me I can’t figure out what made him mad enough to follow. I’m sure the car had some part, however big or small.

Illegal to back out onto a main road. Also crossing the double yellow is a no-no. No winner here. Glad he didn't pull a gun and take it a step further.

I just bought my first Mustang GT in 30 years last week. And I’ve had a dashcam in every car I’ve owned for the last 8 years. The week after the first one was installed, I captured a motorcycle accident that resulted in death. When I purchased my Mustang last week, I ordered the FitcamX because o really loved how it looked like it was built into the car. The day before it arrived, I started looking online for information I needed to know about it so that I would be ready when it arrived. Unfortunately, I found a lot of posts and comments on Reddit about the fitcamx and how its loop recording didn’t work well, including posts from recent weeks. People were in accidents only to find the dashcam hadn’t recorded in months. I’m VERY glad to hear your experience was different!

What is a housing plan?

A neighborhood of homes in the suburbs, usually all built by the same builder, sometimes given a name. Our plan has 100 or so homes with one way in and out.

How does that work in a court, by just asking the officer what time it is lol

Dash cam has saved me a few times in both collisions and LEO trying to be bully I which case I just state it's all on camera let's get it before a judge at which point they walk away.


Can't live with out it have both front and rear hard wired.

Are you using the FitcamX too?

No, it’s an Amazon one. It works well, no frills but no issues with it. I can’t remember the name right now. I’ll have to check when I see it later.

The problem with fircamx is people using an sd card that has too many gigs. Mine was fine and then I put a different cars in. I have to get another card with the correct memory once again. Not sure if it really matters but any dash cam needs to be rock solid in driver trust.

I have the front and rear FitcamX and love it, works great so far.
