Assuming order banks open on May 20th (or is it still May 11?) I'm curious who here is planning to place an order right away before test driving?

If you are planning to, have you seen the car in person at one of the events?

I test drove a 2014 GT CS recently and loved it. The s550 will be better in every way so there's no need.

^ Agree, and if somebody really wants a Special 50th Anniversary model I suspect they're going to have to order it anyways. Of course, there won't be any options to check off other than color and tranny, but at least you'd get one. If people wait until they hit the showroom floor I'm guessing they won't have much time to pull the trigger before someone else buys it, and I doubt many would even get the opportunity to test drive one regardless. At least that how it'll work in my neck of the woods. When the Boss 302's came out they never left the showroom floor, and test driving them was universally scoffed at.

I can understand why when the car's bones are basically the same as a then 7 year old platform but there is something to be said about an all new platform and IRS. All improvements I am sure but still, it will drive significantly different (and probably much better) than the current model. That could be enough reason to test drive one first.

I probably have to wait to order anyway so I should have plenty of time to test drive the GT first.

I can't imagine not driving it first, especially since the only Mustang I've sat in is from 1970.

I personally believe Ford hit a homerun with this car. I think people will flock to the showrooms when they are available to the general public. There is nothing out there with the looks and styling this car has. When people see them on the street it's going to be like the old days when cars were changed each and every year, they couldn't get to the dealer fast enough to buy one. I could be wrong but I really feel it is 1964 again.

Short of unforeseen circumstances I will probably order sometime in June, sight unseen and undriven.

If it comes in and something is amiss, I can always refuse it. (I doubt it though.)

She's already on order, competition orange GT with P/P.
No idea on pricing or delivery yet but RHD vehicles will be scares as hens teeth for a while and did not want to be waiting 10 to 12 months as i had with the Ranger.

So there letting you order already in Oz. Going to be a long wait here in Scotland for orders to begin.

Yep Toecutter, they'll take your money any time!!
No details on exactly what we are getting her in Oz but should't be too far from the US models. Dealer warned there is lots interest and people placing deposits to be the first batch of owners.

Guess I'll put down my order on the 24th of May :) Hope they get some specs and prices out of the way before then and that dealers here are briefed and ready (and just not Ford doing an auto translate of their website to make it look so...)

Yes, I will be ordering as soon as the banks are open. I am very confident this is going to be a great car. All the changes from the IRS to the sleeker styling have been spot on. Ford really seems fully committed to the S550. Can't wait. Besides, my deposit will be refundable. Already confirmed with my dealer.

I'm a very patient person plus I love my current 2011 5.0(currently on a road trip with it) so there is no need for me to rush into ordering without checking things out first. I have no doubt it will be the best driving mustang ever produced, but there are options I've never had in a car that I will have to decide whether or not to spring the extra money for them.
