Who has ordered Spare wheel/tire?

I wonder how to get a donut spare to fit brembo cars? Would a thick enough spacer on hand do it?

I doubt that would make much difference unless the spacer was about 4 inches thick and pushed the wheel out of the wheel well.

BUT… you could swap a rear to the front and mount the spare on the rear (which would fit) and run it for a short time. Not a good idea to run around with a spare on the rear for a long time with a limited slip differential I hear.

OK...so if you want a spare for our 2015, it's extra? I thought the PP couldn't get a spare at all (thought it was due to space in the truck for the spare or something).

Basically what I'm asking is can you get a full spare with an EB Premium with PP if you want to pay extra?

You likely could buy it over-the-counter in the parts department, but if the order system is aligned to the order guide, you would not be able to select it to be included on your car as part of the order.

I'm sure there is a jack and a wrench in there as well. Try to buy those piecemeal after your purchase and you will end up spending double that amount for the same things. Its piece of mind for some of us.

I got one. I travel too much not to. If I want to lose weight I take it out. If I have a flat well...... cant change it if u aint got it.

That will be expensive. They are pretty high aftermarket.

I like the swap rear to front idea though.

The spare issue is the brake clearance in the front.

I'll have to see about one for my LE.

Does anyone remember if spare was optional on the 2011 gt's? Maybe I'll steal mine out before I get rid of it lol

Fitting the spare in the trunk likely would not be the issue. The issue is whether the spare would actually work on a car with the 20s. I suspect there is just one standard wheel and tire size from Ford, not varying sizes depending on whether you have 19s or 20s. I could be wrong about this.

Shouldn't be a problem with 20s since all tires put on Mustangs are 27" in diameter.

Yes, that is a good point. One might guess then that the reason the spare is not a valid combination is because of weight savings.The PP wheels and the 20s are likely to be heavier than the 18s or non-PP 19s.

It seems to me that the reason for the black 19's in the PP would be lighter wheels, and that the package is about both performance and weight savings. I'm also guessing here, but isn't this about a "full size" spare? I can't imagine that they would omit a donut with jack in PP editions or if optioned with 20's, but I could be wrong (and it'd be a terrible choice by Ford if true).

I can understand why not getting an extra wheel/tire with the PP would be because they are staggered. So, in that scenario, which one would you include? A 19"x9" for the front or a 19"x9.5" for the rear?

The spare doesn't fit over the front brakes. That's why it's not included. Wasn't included in 11-14 brembo cars either.

Exactly. It doesn't matter what size the wheels are, it is the size of the rotors and calipers. I'm sure the spare won't fit on the Brembos in front. I guess its one good thing since I can't get the PP, that I can opt for the spare tire as it should fit over the stock front brakes I assume. (At least I hope.)

Staggered is only on GT.

EB has normal 19's.
