Can someone explain to me why the spare tire kit from Ford FR3Z-1K007-C will not work with the 20" foundry wheels?

Ford states that it will work for 18" & 19" wheels.

The spare wheel is 185/55/18.
Diam - 26" Circum - 81.7

The 18" wheel is 235/50/18.
Diam- 27.3" Circum- 85.6"

The 19" wheel is 255/40/19.
Diam- 27" Circum- 84.9"

The 20" wheel is 265/35/20.
Diam- 27.3" Circum - 85.7"

The 20" wheel is basically the same size as the 18" wheel. I'm needing new tires soon and want to know if I need to save one of my tires for a full size spare setup.

Thanks

I have 20" and bought the factory spare. As you noted there is 1.3" difference in diameter and many people slap on the mini spare and drive as if they are on a regular tire. That 1.3" difference over prolonged driving could lead to damage to the differential if the spare is placed in the rear. My plan in the event of a rear flat is to place the spare in the front and move the front to the rear. You have to keep in mind that steering maybe compromised with a pull to the side due to the size difference.

Thanks for the insight melwff! I assume this will clear the front brakes. Don't have brembo just the standard for premium.

wait...how you gonna have a full-size 20" spare in the car. Inquiring minds want to know.
It would just sit in tge trunk for when I go long distance. I know it wouldn't fit in the spare tire well.

I haven't tried it through the trunk in mine because of the subs, but I know people have put 3 19" wheels in the back with the seats down so how would you not be able to fit one 20" in there?

There's also this option which clears the Brembo brakes and specifically says "Will work for Mustangs equipped with 18" and 20" wheels as well."

"The tire matches OEM tire rolling diameter (no impact on the Torsen Differential or ABS systems)"

Aren't there a variety of tire diameters on S550s? What is the actual diameter of their spare?

Pretty sure they started it based on the PP wheels so most likely matches up with those.
