Very True Solar. Both are very capable. But like mentioned both deliver power slightly different. When modded fairly identical you can’t say one will be the other every time. Most races even when back to back between 2 close cars hardly yield the same results.
The whipple install took me about two days in my garage to do, but if you’re looking for supercharger whine the gen 5 doesn’t produce any, at least for me.I'm thankful for the bump in this thread too. I'm in the same boat of procharger vs whipple.
I have an 18 pp1 10speed. Bone stock with the exception of an H pipe and it's my daily. I get groceries, take trash, take the kids to school, rain.. everything except snow. I dont race or track it. Just want a fun street car in the mid 600 to low 700whp.
I was completely set on procharger stage 2 with a p1x.... HOWEVER.. my car rarely sees 6500rpm much less 7k+. So I feel I wouldnt really get full enjoyment from a procharger.
It seems that whipple has one of the best out of the box tunes and basically makes the prices of the kits the same since I would be adding $1k for remote tuning with the procharger as it seems many people weren't happy with the kit tune.
This is what brings me to the gen 5 whipple.. I can enjoy the power all the time while keeping stock like manners when not pushing the car...I really like supercharger whine too, lol. I feel that the need for OPG/CS wouldnt be absolutely needed since I wont be revving out all the way with a whipple as where I would definitely need to with a PC since I wouldnt really see the power unless I'm revving it out.
I've read the installs for both kits several times over. Procharger seems almost too easy but I would prefer to leave the crank alone to minimize potential issues. The whipple install seems more involved with very minor modifications but easily can be done at home with standard tools.
Obviously I havent experienced either just months of reading and researching so if I'm wrong someone please correct me. Just trying to make a decision
Oh okay, I had seen an video of a guy with an 18 and a stage 1 whipple and his whined a lot. But you have one so you would know more than me.The whipple install took me about two days in my garage to do, but if you’re looking for supercharger whine the gen 5 doesn’t produce any, at least for me.
I absolutely love it, I have a fore fuel system, 150TB, 3.5 griptec pulley, I got the dual fans but wish I went oversized. I’m about to replace it with the killer chiller anyways. DW95 injectors and a mantic twin disc clutch on stock mt-82. I make right around 800 on e85Oh okay, I had seen an video of a guy with an 18 and a stage 1 whipple and his whined a lot. Overall, how do you like it? Did you do any supporting mods?
Car sounds awesome. I was looking into doing the fans as well... do they not do a very good job at keeping the heat down when in traffic or a long stop light?I absolutely love it, I have a fore fuel system, 150TB, 3.5 griptec pulley, I got the dual fans but wish I went oversized. why don’t you drive your car ? I don’t understand ?? Why not rev it out !Car sounds awesome. I was looking into doing the fans as well... do they not do a very good job at keeping the heat down when in traffic or a long stop light?
I thought about going that route but I want to do the install myself. Not just for the $ but also for self pride in my car. Also, arent the roush kits typically the worst with keeping temps down?why don’t you drive your car ? I don’t understand ?? Why not rev it out !
Should get the roush kit from ford then , 8600 installed at the dealer .
If you’re set on the whipple , look into getting a killer chiller or interchiller set up if you’re worried about heat soak. It will direct your AC line to your tank to cool your whipple . You’ll see IATs in the 50s in a 100 degree day .
Yeah, I've watched a ton of videos comparing the two. It does seem the prochargers often make more power but both kits out the box would give me the power I'm looking for. I'm not looking to set records or anything, lol.
These are pretty good E85 comparisons.
Both are 2015 Mustang GT’s.
Pretty amazing horsepower.
If I go procharger I want to go with the p1x. Anything over that seems like overkill for what I want and the p1x will have room to grow as well.I have the blower from the car on the top vídeo now lol
Buy my D1SC so i can buy an F1AIf I go procharger I want to go with the p1x. Anything over that seems like overkill for what I want and the p1x will have room to grow as well.
I saw you waited to do opgs on your build, did you have suspension mods to start or did you add them after boost.
Thats part of my pros/cons for both to me, what supporting mods are truly needed for each setup.
I think that would be above what I'm trying to go for. I wouldnt even be maxing out a p1x. Thanks thoughBuy my D1SC so i can buy an F1A
