So you want

reliable
Smog legal
daily driver
more power/ a lot more

with out sacrificing fuel economy? :headbonk::headbonk::headbonk:

Do you have some secret Tesla engine that is affordable?
Actually adding a blower can make the engine more efficient, believe it or not. It's relevant to the weight of your right foot! :D

I had a Vortech V2 T-Trim C5 Vette that put down 600+ rwhp (through an A4 trans with a stall) and it got better mileage than it did stock. I spent quite a bit of time tuning it, but it got 29-31 mpg on the highway and low-mid 20's in the city. It also had no cats on it and passed an OBDII and sniffer emission test. As stated...it's all in the tune that makes the drivability and mileage work for you. Granted, it was a GM product, but just saying that it can be done.

My advice to the OP is that you have to figure out what's more important to you. Instant tire melting torque of the Whipple or manageable, linear power of the Procharger. I agree that the Procharger would be easier to install than the Whipple and probably quieter (less whine).

It's a big decision and has Many more variables than I gave you.

Good Luck!

Im looking at the Pro-Charger and would like to be steered in the right direction. What would be the best kit as far as head unit etc. that would get me over 600 to the wheels "reliably". What do you guys recommend?

Seems like the HO kit would get you there no problem. Maybe upgrade to the stage 2 intercooler to make it more efficient and leave potential for more power.

Just curious why you wouldn't just go stage two to begin with

The only thing that scares me away from the Pro-Charger is the issues I have heard about, hasn't there been major issues with leaking oil? My buddy has one on his 05 GT and he can't keep oil in the damn thing other than that its flawless.

I think that was the older models that tapped into the cars oil line

My whole deal is more power reliably I would really like the pro charger but the leaking scares me...Would love to hear if this is still an issue or not because you just can't beat the price and power that you get with the pro charger but if paying a bit more for the whipple gives me the reliability that I'm asking for then I will gladly do it.

Out of the dozens of cars running PC there have been no reported oil issues on the new kits, on the forums at least.

AFter talking with a couple people i am on the fence between PC and KB now.
