I'll be purchasing a Whipple for my new 2017 Mustang GT in the next few weeks. Still waiting for the car to be built. The car will be for daily driving 95% of the time, parked in the winter, but of course I will be pushing it occasionally, but don't plan in the near future to take it to the track for drag racing. I may eventually take it to the track (albeit rarely) just to get some times to see what it is capable of :)

Given the above, the question I have is. Should I go with the Stage 1 or Stage 2? The Stage 1 will likely meet my daily driver needs as it has lots of power and is less expensive, however I've read some reviews that suggest that the larger throttle body and the tune provided with the Stage 2 setup actually give the car significantly better and more consistent daily drive-ability???

Anyone had experience in driving both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 and what are your thoughts on this? Is the Stage 2 tune really that much better for daily driving?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have the throttle body, the fans, 72lb injectors, etc. I think that may be the stage 2? But it drives amazing. I DD mine

I would just go with the stage 2 from the get go. It's a fantastic driving setup with power for days. Plus the 132 throttle body looks absolutely killer!

Sounds like the Stage 2 is the way to go, in-spite of the additional $800. I'm still a little curious about the thoughts that the Stage 2 actually drives better than the Stage 1. Has anyone had the Stage 1 and then upgraded to the Stage 2 ie: direct experience with both and can verify that is in fact the case? Or is it just a matter of hp/tq drunk

Thanks,

If you are not chasing a certain number, then it sounds like the Stage 1 would be suitable. It's not like the car will not have good street manners, but Whipple will agree that the Stage 2 kit does provide better drivability. If you want the most HP out of the kit, I would lean towards Stage 2. If you are not chasing numbers and will be satisfied regardless of the HP number, then I would stick with the Stage 1. Give us a call if you have any questions, we will help in any way we can.

I've been Stage 2 since April. I daily drive mine and also commute from VA to OH for work. No issues at all and the car drives better than it did on the stock tune. Running the Whipple Flare tool and Flight Control software.
