The easiest way to get into the 10's is to get rid of that Whipple tune, a PBD tune would easily fix that problem. No way in hell I'd spray your motor unless you had sleeves, your fixin to oval out you cylinders or blow out your rings.

First post he says he has a custom tune for ms109. I agree though, he is making enough power to go 134 at that altitude, he is already at the danger zone, just needs to get it to flow together.

Pd blowers love nitrous, especially post blower injection. You usually pick up double the power of the jet with a nice post bower spray bar setup on Eatons.

I hate statements like this. The Whipple tune is actually a FANTASTIC tune and pushes the motor harder than some Lund and PBD tunes I have seen. Drivability is also prob THE BEST, the other tuners strive to have it as good and make the same overall power. If you switch fuel type, then yes you need to go custom, not because the tune sucks but it just isn't setup to run with anything other than 91 or 93 pump gas.

But as already noted he is already on a custom tune.

You can hate it all you want, the whipple tune sucks a$$ for the dragstrip and the OP is trying to go 10's. I've been following whipple tune drag results since day 1. I realize the OP has a custom tune, no idea from who, I'm just saying if he wants definitive results then go with PBD, it's a sure thing. I'd go that route before adding the bottle, but that's just me.

LMAO

ok bud, once you stop re-reading and googling and start actually tuning a car and see the actual differences in the tunes, please refrain from regurgitating your interpretation of other peoples performance with a Whipple tune. Maybe you have, but based on what you are saying, you have not?

I drive a whipple setup, a stock whipple calibration and then retuned for my own desires, and am I staring at a whipple, lund, and pbd tune on my screen as I am typing this, and I can assure you there is nothing suck @ss about a whipple tune, AT ALL. I have 1/8 miled the car 3 times now and the whipple tune is still beyond what stock suspension and tire can handle by a LONG shot. With all the nannies turned of in the flare tool, there is nothing lack luster in the Whipple tune.

If I had to troll and regurgitate what others may have posted about whipple tunes, most of those on a whipple stock tune are not hardcore or well versed drag racers, they are daily driver guys who go 10 times in their life to the track.

Whipple tunes are fine, they just don't produce results at the strip, don't care what you are looking at. Most whipple tunes that dyno 700+ only go 11.2-11.4's at 128mph, which sucks in my opinion. If you want to see the fastest tuned whipple cars then go visit PBD's Facebook page, dozens of 9 & 10 sec whipple setups.

The fact is that the OP wants to go 10's, right now his 134mph is enough power but either his kung fu isn't strong enough or there is room for improvement on his tuning. He doesn't need nitrous, he needs trackside support from Bjonnes, that's it, end, /thread.

BTW, please post up your slips from your whipple tune, lets see those awesome results. I'll guarantee that I can post up slips from a smaller blower on less boost that has lower et's and higher mph. I'm not trying to stir the pot, I'm just wanting to discuss results, nothing but pure data

Lastly, where are all the whipple tuned cars?

I have been 10.8 @ 134mph on whipples tune, 6spd manual, and stock 235 tires. Highest mph has been 137. We will see Monday what she does with real tires.

that's fairly respectable, good job rowing the gears. 3.625 pulley? Was the 137 from you or dat boi? He was on race gas and a tire setup, and that was a long time ago, no one has come even close to the numbers since. Good luck on monday!

Supposed to a rental in NJ on Monday, not that same one you guys are heading to, is it? Looks like rain, but I planned to run my 93 pump gas 3.625 setup.

a whipple canned tune brings the most saftey and driveability to the table i wont argue that. but if you keep it stage 1-2 keep it that way from whipple. From what i feel if you are gonna add anything more than a catback you should tune.

here is a video. both cars are:
2015 GT
6 speed manual 3.31 & 91 octane with 3.625 pulley and 132 mm tb.
both 20 inch sticky tire. he was on a pilot sport cup 2 replaced the day before.

the only difference is i have full exhaust and a custom tune. i do have a fuel system but i was not on e85.

i feel to maximize power you should tune anyways. every setup and engine is different. in general nothing against whipple a canned tune is a generic recipe (one size fits all)

with proper tuner should gain under the curve and peak gains. should headers and a tune pull that much harder? [ame]

MIR. I have been to all the tracks in Jersey.. MIR is better. You should join us, if you are heading to Atco, it's only a couple more hrs. And if you were heading to Englishtown, don't waste your time. You bite your tongue on that "R" word though.
