Im still on SCT but the tuner I am going with uses RTD/MPV. On their site it says you still need a laptop. Does the TDN app allow you to record logs and then send to tuner straight from your phone?
I have the RTD+ and access through the app on my phone VIA Bluetooth. Go on YouTube and type in Wengerd RTD tuning or just go to his site and he has a tutorial video from start to finish on the RTD+.

100%. Sooo much easier than my NGauge car. Stop on your favorite backroad, hit a couple buttons on the app, do your pull/log, save and send. I don't have a lot of tuning experience, but can't imagine it going much easier than that.

And with Wengerd, he took my log and was making file updates in minutes, with returned files back within the hour or less.

Mpv allows you to edit, write, read. Rtd allows you to read/write. Can't do any editing. Most people don't care to build their own tune. They just want a good working tune and never have to think about it again. Nothing wrong with the RTD.

Me, I'm this guy.
