The 2087 is just a nicer filter. Switch to synthetic media with more structural webbing. This has been talked about a few times now:

please do, and please report back
just chatted with ford performance 2x today. first time was with tom magyar there at FP. he didnt know the answer, so he asked an engineer there and the engineer said, "yes, you can use either model on 2017's and up." i happened to chat again with another guy steve at FP just now. he instantly told me yes we can use the new FL-2087 as well.

i have it in writing in an email too.

btw, when i was talking with steve at FP, i told him 2 guys on the shelby forum experienced higher oil pressure with the new filter. his 1 word response to me was: "correct".

for my 2018 R, trying to decide if i should go with...

-FL 2062
-FL2087
-K&N PS-7037

any thoughts? for those of you with 2017 or 2018, which are you going with next oil change?
IMHO, there are only two options for our cartridge oil filters 100% regardless of year (R is irrelevant)...that would be a 2087 or Amsoil EA15K43.

Interesting. Thanks for the update. Anyone know what the oil pressure is like on the older cars with the screw on filter?

Wouldn't it be something if the 2062 oil filter is resulting in sub-optimal oil pressure in these engines...
