I do not get it. I send you a new car for $44k and you say it’s too much. Then you post a used car for $44k. Are you going to find every Mustang out there and ask for our opinion?
hes worried about buyers remorse. but new > used for all equal money.

I've been looking for a 2018-2020 GT for a month or two. My current DD is a 2011 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. Love it as a utility vehicle, but as a DD driving 30min to and from work, it sucks. I live north of NYC and drive to Queens for work, so i'm mostly highway and the cars move fast. Driving the Tacoma fast feels like i'm driving on marshmallows. I will keep the Tacoma for winter driving, driving the kids around, going fishing, vacations in the mountains, but want to get a performance vehicle for my DD to and from work.

I've been a mustang guy since i was a kid. Talked my mom into letting me get a 1985 GT 5.0 for my first car. I loved it and had tons of fun......probably too much. Since then, i've had mostly sport utility vehicle due to where i have lived and my outdoors lifestyle. Now, i'm at a point where i can keep the Tacoma and get myself something i will enjoy as a DD. Plus my wife has a Cherokee so we would still have 2 vehicles to drive the kids (5 and 7yrs old) around in.

Anyway, as i said, the car will mostly be a DD, but it will also be something i would take out on the weekend for a spirited drive out in the country as well. Probably also take the kids out on some cruises. I'm pretty much set on wanting a PP as i want a car that i won't have to modify much. I test drove a 2020 PP1 301a AE 6MT and thought it was great. I thought the seats were pretty comfortable and the car drove really well. I haven't had the chance to try a premium or 401a yet. I'm not sure if leather seats are a need to have for me. The other GT i found is a PP2 that has had the SC2s replaced. It is well optioned and low miles. The link to the car is below.

https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/1FA6P8CF7K5194333

I'm trying to stay within a budget, but could spend a little extra for a well optioned car like the PP2 above. Any advice from those of you who DD a PP1 or PP2? What options do you feel are must have's?
In the time since you posted this, almost 200 posts ago, I sold my Tacoma, ordered a Mach 1, decided I did not want to wait 90+ days and the $10k+ extra I would be paying is probably a waste of money for me, cancelled that order, started shopping around and bought a car 2 days ago.

Granted, my budget is not as restricted as yours, but still.... decide what your parameters are and go get a car. They are out there.

What did you buy?
Carbonized Gray GT Premium, 401A, GT Perf Pack, Magneride, Enhanced Security, Active Vlave Exhaust, B&O sound system.
MSRP $53,790.
Got it for $51k OTD.

Went to look at an Antimatter Blue GT without the B&O which I had read here was disappointing sound quality, so I didn’t care about that. I REALLY didn’t like the blue. Might as well be black and I live on a 1 mile dirt road so would have required daily washing. The blue one was marked down more, but a couple grand spread over the life of the loan is not such a big deal and I am happy with the color. Also happy with the sound system. I have never had a GOOD aftermarket sound system, and this B&O beats any other system that has come with a car. It’s a damn sight better than the Tacoma.

I am late to this party and only read the first page or two so take this with that into consideration.

I own a PP2 and live on Long Island. No real issues. I have a set of 275/35R19 on aftermarket wheels for winter and use PS4S 305/30R19 (OEM size) on stock wheels. From looking at the PP2, it has the right wheels in the right places. I could see the valve step on the passenger side and the front drivers. On PP2 wheels, you have the 'Y' and space between them. To tell the front from the back, the valve stem will be within the 'Y' on front wheels and between two 'Y's on back. I had the fiasco of the dealer putting 3 front wheels and one rear on my car when I purchased it.

My wife's family lives in Bayside Queens so I am familiar with the area a little. The roads are poor but because the entire city of NY(all the boroughs) have 25mph speed limits, there really is no issue. I have been by school with speed bumps (those long ones) and have no issue going over them with the stock wheels.

I have the full 401A leather interior with the heated and cooled seats with black interior and they are great in the summer. I sweat at the drop of a hat and these seats keep me comfortable all year round. Have also used this car to go upstate and several other 4+ hr drives and I am very comfortable. No issues with the clutch and traffic. Simple traffic trick. Find an 18 wheeler, leave some space and stay behind them. No one is going anywhere fast and he has more issues than you have and will smooth out the drive so you do not have to clutch so often. No one will get between you and the truck since no one really wants to be behind one.

If you go PP2, I find the 305/30R19 and the 275/35R19 fit the wheels fine but the 275 does look a bit too narrow on the wheels but work fine. My Winter rims are a 19x9.5 so they look better (and I can get 255/40 or 245/40 the next time when these wear out). Narrow tires are your friend in snow. Wide just want to slide on top. Narrow cut through.

Good luck with your purchase.

I am close. Very close. Adjusted my price point to get what I want.

Close on this one. They want OTD at 50,500 though.
you need to show your maths. I figured 8% sales tax and there's an extra grand in that 50.5OTD figure than the advertised 45.4k starting price would suggest.

It's a poor deal on a leftover 2020 but if you can live with/want the feature set and travel distance in this difficult market and want it 'now' it's the lumps you have to take...

If you're willing to shell out that kind of coin I'd choose this one instead by a WIDE margin. In fact I suggest you pick up the phone RIGHT DAMN NOW and put a deposit on it !!

There are $50 busses that go to/fro NYC to DC Union Station. Or ride the Osceola, or fly, or get a 1-way rental car if you don't have a buddy to drive a vehicle back. Hell, I'll pick you up my damn self from Union Station or DCA and drive you to Wheaton.
