If I had the money to special-order my perfect Mustang, MagneRide was my priority. I would also like the Active Exhaust... Isn't it a $1600 option?
I saw this 2020 Mustang that was still on the lot 5 months into the 2021 model year, the price had dropped, and I decided it was 95% of what I wanted for about $10,000 less.

Once I test-drove it I saw that it had real gauges rather than a screen, and the clutch effort was lighter than I expected, so I was pretty sure I'd be happy with it.

I rented a 2019 Mustang a while back and saw the screen "gauges" for myself. I was indifferent to it, in normal mode. When I tried Sport mode for several minutes, I hated what it did with the speed and RPM displays. They didn't look like real gauges, they didn't look like anything in Gran Turismo, they didn't help me read my RPM any better while I was following this twisty mountain road. They were just different for the sake of being different.
Also, the automatic transmission didn't make any better decisions on its own. I kept having to override it to avoid bogging the engine. I thought I might get used to the screen for the sake of MagneRide, but the rental convinced me I really, really wanted a manual transmission.

Judging by what's happening with car prices now, I think I lucked out and got my car while prices were at their lowest.

As my old boss used to tell me, "you are way too tightly wrapped around the axle". You seem to be totally paralyzed about your inability to make a decision. I know it's hard but the more input you get, the more confused you're getting. At this point everything that needs to be said has been said, over and over.

So just stop. Stop writing, stop asking questions (you already have the answers) and go find a car. You know what you want, you know what you need and what you can live without (or change). You know what your budget is.

We all love giving you our opinions but the final decisions are yours. Time to start making them.

I say that I want the PP one because I always lean towards the higher end, but I’m not sure that it would be necessary considering what I would use the car for

exactly. The 4-pots can handle all hte abuse you can throw at them on the street. When lapping on a road course is where they fall over. And you can fix that with some ghetto mods and a chunk of change for properly vented rotors.

I could immediately purchase the one from Lindsay and upgrade the wheels and tires right off the bat.

If I was buying all over I would do this. Buying PP1 for me was mostly a waste. I've replaced most of the PP1 feature set and may end up replacing the radiator too. Basically I've bought twice. The PP1 suspension is not very good at all in my book if you want to actually push the car.

I've got a PILE of Steeda parts (IRS braces, lateral links, bearings, pro-Active dampers), a couple of spring sets, Eibach bump stops, K-brace, etc that came off my low mile EB/PP and like 4 sets of wheels NIB I'd be happy to unload (some work for 4-pot only, rest work with Brembo). If you come to Lindsay or Ted Britt I'm nearby and you can do all your car and upgrades shopping in one trip. Or at least eyeball what I have to educate yourself on what's out there. And sample the sound and upgrades done to it.

Another relevant expression might be "Perfection is the enemy of excellence".
Or the military expression "An 85% solution today is better than a 100% solution next week."

I think some people would disagree on your use of 'loaded'. Under normal circumstances a 2 year old car should be MINIMUM 20% off MSRP and more like 25-30. This one is barely 10% off.

I think you need to get out of the NYC metro area to have a prayer at a reasonable deal.

I do not get it. I send you a new car for $44k and you say it’s too much. Then you post a used car for $44k. Are you going to find every Mustang out there and ask for our opinion?
