I plan to go up there on Thu to look at a GT Premium. Or might stop at Ted Britt on the way home in the morning for the one posted earlier. Last experience with them left a bad taste in my mouth, but that was 25 years ago, so one can hope they changed.
I got a very good deal from Lindsay in wheaton when I bought my EB/PP. If you want to sample my car's setup (suspension, exhaust) give me a shout when you're in the area.

I have a pro clip mounted next to my climate vent, so if I have to navigate I just glance at my phone and listen to the audio instructions.
ditto. Love that mount. Just wish it would pivot so I can aim it down the road for a cheap track recorder.

^ you gonna buy it so I can get a newer model? 🙂
I was prompting you to offer a price tag for OP's consideration. Just don't tell him it comes with free technical support. :)

I was just looking at this one. My must haves were PP1, M6, 301a, AE. But I could buy this one and immediately start making mods to get it to where I want it.

Carbonized grey is a new color too, would be neat to have.

Nearly the same car as the one at Lindsay Ford, but has the PP1, smart and safe package, and touchscreen navigation (I thought all 301a and above have this???). Is that worth paying 10k more?
Is it worth it to you? Your decision and you better make it fast.

I have Safe & Smart as it came with the car. I wasn’t looking for it but was not going to let $1k (without discount) cost me the car I wanted. Same thing with Nav. Take it or leave it but again $795 wasn’t going to break me.

You know what you want. You keep saying it over and over. Get the 301a, PP, & AE. At this point I honestly believe you are going to regret anything less.

Its now the end of the month. If a dealer is going to move it’s now. Rebates come and go. Next month could be better, or worse. That said, what good is better if the car you want is gone?

No offense, but you need to pull the trigger before the end of the month or consider waiting long enough for the market to settle. There's no telling what rebates will hit for Mustangs in May. I think the 2020 rebates will stay, but that's just a guess. There's right at $3K in rebates on 2020 Mustangs right now. Those are good through 4/30.

For what it's worth - volume dealerships will stay pretty consistent on pricing regardless.

You can find dealers that will sell new Mustangs at 3-4% under invoice, so you could order the exact car you want. You're not really going to save that much more (if at all) on a 2021 sitting on a dealer's lot versus ordering EXACTLY what you want and waiting. The big savings are on 2020s sitting on dealer's lots and those are going fast.

Yeah, it’s just above my price point. I will call and see if they will come down though.

Keep this in mind - there's a dealer on this forum (they are in Iowa) who will sell you a new 2021 - a car you order the way you want it - for 4% under invoice. For the PP, AE, 301A and M6 - a bit under $43K before TTL.

Just my opinion - the PP was a pretty good deal, but the price hike (over $6K MSRP For the PP package) in my opinion takes away the value.

Are you okay with Summer only tires? That's what comes with the PP. Also - staggered wheel sizes. It may not matter to you, but I prefer a square setup for rotation and tire life. Again personal preference.

Brakes - the Brembos are good - but are you tracking the car?

The 3.73 gears are another add on. Hell you can find a take off 3.73 complete torsion unit for under a $1K and bolt it right in.

I had an acquaintance in sort of the same boat a few months back. He ended up finding a deal on a new 2020 A10 Base GT. He got it for over $10K less than than ordering a PP car would have cost him. He was sure he'd want to upgrade suspension etc right away.. All he's done so far is wheels / tires, tint, Sync 3 upgrade (With drive modes) and he just snagged a PP1 spoiler and he's really happy with his car. He's got less than $3K invested after purchase.

Everyone is different. I know people who bought the PP and because of the roads they deal with on their commute / daily drives - they've already upgraded struts / springs.

Just figure out what you won't compromise on and go from there.

Good luck.

Appreciate the feedback. Your acquaintance sounds a lot like me. I will not be tracking the car, but will be driving it spring, summer, early fall several days to work and then doing spirited driving on the weekend. I say that I want the PP one because I always lean towards the higher end, but I’m not sure that it would be necessary considering what I would use the car for and that it is nearly an additional 10,000 more to purchase that car. I could immediately purchase the one from Lindsay and upgrade the wheels and tires right off the bat.

I drove a non-PP1 automatic with the active exhaust and thought that it drove really well. When compared to the PP1, I thought the PP1 felt more planted to the ground.

I can tell you this - and this was confirmed by several friends who have or had owned S550 Mustangs, two of them PP1 cars......

The addition of the Steeda IRS rear braces:

https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-rear-irs-subframe-brace-2015-coupe-555-5754.html

And the addition of the this 2 point brace:

https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-ultralite-2-point-g-trac-brace-555-5533.html

Plus the 19x10 wheels and tires I added........

It made a HUGE Difference on my '19 GT. I had all those on my '17 V6, so I unbolted them before I traded in and added them on the '19 the first day I bought it.

Put it this way.....

I have ZERO problems being able to take corners, on ramps, exit ramps etc, comfortably at speeds that would likely get my license taken away. That's on General AS tires and no sliding or tire protest.

That’s awesome and good to know. Do you put them in your non-PP1 GT?

You can also buy the front PP bracing kit and add it separately for about $350. I did it and it definitely makes a difference on a base car.
