Hello,

I am facing issues with these 19" Niche wheels and front Brembo calipers. The calipers are hitting the inside rim of the wheel.
I checked them for clearance and found that it is very minimal between the wheel and the caliper, like one playing card at the top and the bottom.

Specs: ET35 19 x 9.5

Possible to solve this issue using spacers that are track safe (arp, opmustang, etc.)?

Otherwise, I don't mind the wheels getting damaged but worried if it is safe to drive them with such low clearance.

Returning the wheels is not an option because I got them used locally.

Thank you.

Grind down the caliper where it's rubbing and repaint them is what I have done.

Spacers won’t help. Sorry but you simply got wheels that don’t fit
No option than getting wheels that fit correctly or removing material from the calipers
Depend on where and how much

I am not in favor of grinding the calipers for structural integrity reasons. I feel like grinding will be a slippery slope to get fitment.

I guess my only option is to repair the damage and sell them.

Unfortunately, that is just a poorly designed wheel, you really do not have many options. Puzzling to see a wheel with a barrel design of that shape. When you can fit an 18" wheel easily over this brake system and a 19" wheel does not clear I question the design of the wheel.

The caliper is a thick casting and contact is very slight. A light touch with a Dremel and you are good to go. NO SPACERS.

Brembos suck for fitment. They were almost hitting my 20" wheels and on hard cornering or tight turns, I could hear them rubbing. Went to 14" Wilwood all around and now I can fit a finger between the wheel and caliper and it stops way better.

Just unlucky!! Since the wheel is ET 35 19 x 9.5, I thought I was good for fitment.

I never done that before. I cannot seem to find good online resources for it. Any suggestion on how this is done. Shave, check fit, shave? But how much is safe?

Buying new calipers is not an option right now.

Question: What are the dangers of driving these wheels as is? I understand the front will get scrapped which I don't mind. But other than that, what can go wrong?

I guess plenty.

So you went to a smaller diameter rotor and Wilwood calipers and you got better braking????
Only 2 possible reasons: placebos effect or your original braking system, rotors, pads and calipers were not working correctly
As for Brembo sucking for fitment, that’s a stupid comment. If you get the right wheels, even in 18”, they fit perfect. If you get the wrong wheels, they don’t. I will call that operator mistake

^Go with your gut.

Clean 'em up, sell 'em. Then save some more to get a quality wheel that you know will fit. You know you'll never regret taking that path.

Wow, I just noticed. The valve stem is on the inside of the rim. Guess I don't get out enough.
