what's this in the trunk?

I guess that I've been delinquent... and never paid attention to what was in the trunk until today.
I knew that there was no spare or jack... figured there was a can of goop.

Today I took a look - and now hoping to find out what is what.
It looks like a 12V compressor with an option to shoot the goop into a flat tire?
I'm presuming that the eye bolt would be a "tow hook" for the front bumper?
... and right now I don't have a guess about the yellow plastic pieces...

Correct. It's your tire inflation kit.

The yellow blocks are spring spacers to lock out the springs for tiedown/transport. They have no purpose after the owner buys it, toss em out.

Must be the HP option for the yellow shipping blocks? My tow hook was delivered with the owner's kit, months after I took delivery.

FWIW, my car is "non-HP".

Does that "foam block" holding the tire inflation kit serve any other purpose? The shape seems pretty elaborate for simply holding a rectangular box...

The tire inflation kit does have a shelf life. Make sure it’s still good, or you may need to toss it as well and replace it.

Sell the yellow coil spring blocks… someone with a collectible S550 will want them to keep…. Why? Because people threw them away and you can’t buy them anywhere IF you’re wanting everything that was with the car when and as delivered off the transport.

Actually, according to the Mach 1 user manual, you might appreciate the shipping blocks when you do need to load the car on a transport - if you ever plan doing that - since they are hard to find elsewhere.

I'd keep everything.

The inflator kit is an original item. Many of us keep a space saver wheel from companies like Automotive Authority. Several keep full-sized spares. I keep my inflator in the basement for now, but it will go with the car when sold.

The tow hook was given to all Mach 1s. Yes, it screws into the portal in the front bumper, passenger side. It's reverse threaded. The owners manual shows how to pop the bumper cap so you can access the port.

The shipping blocks are a nice keepsake. I'd stow them with the inflator.

Two things to look for:

- Also in the trunk, down and to the left, you should have seen a small, white funnel. This funnel will allow you to get past the flaps in the filer neck to add from a small bottle, like Stabil or from a gas can. If it's not there, that's OK. They can be bought in parts stores

- You'd know by now, but US buyers, base model and HP, received a Welcome Kit. They might have given you that as part of the car sale. If they did not, odds are the original owner kept it or sold it on eBay. If you don't have a kit, you can start a search or eBay and look for them from time-to-time. The kits are kind of cool and will become increasingly rare as time goes by

I will definitely keep the spring spacers, just not in the trunk
the white funnel is still in-place.
Not sure why it took this long to pay attention... but will seriously think about the "A.A." spare tire kit.

I do have a "welcome kit" - but it does not have the Chassis # sticker on it (or the other sticker about the gears), I did not get most of the papers. Thanks for that link where I could see what was originally included... not sure that I can justify more $$ for somthing with a different color car and different chassis # - who knows what the "next guy or gal" might want.

... pretty sure that I saw some sort of label on the back of the "compressor" with an expiration date
