I have no idea if this is true, but the thought of a 6.2 Aluminum block with 4 valve heads and twin turbos makes me think impure thoughts
6.2 and twin turbo's to me would mean an easy 800 hp.

Sometimes I can't decide if I like our forum's Sterling Archer or the actual Sterling Archer more :D

Well, let me put it this way, I know someone that's headed out to Flat Rock shortly for the GT350 launch....

I'm just throw it out there that every once in a while the rumor mill gets something right
It's good info. I think most people here are pretty up to date on it already, but surprised to hear Watson Racing spilled the beans.

I think at this point, given the pretty strong rumours, we'd be surprised if GT350 wasn't a FPC.

However, is all of the information good? Is there another, bigger, badder engine coming on top of the FPC Voodoo? :gossip:

That is why I said an easy 800hp, and I was meaning as a production model, not modded

That I have no idea, and would be surprised if there was right now. We've all assumed that eventually there will be a gt500 replacement, but I'm guessing that would be a turbo or supercharged voodoo. It's just too expensive to develop 2 niche engines simultaneously.

Thanks. That's along the lines of what I thought. Perhaps a CPC version of Voodoo with turbos or a supercharger. That would be quite a machine :)

Sorry when I said "good info" I was only referring to the info about Voodoo and discontinuation of the Trinity engine. This part:

We took a tour of Watson Racing last week on a trip to Dearborn. Surprisingly, they came right out and confirmed the GT350 AND that they would be responsible for a VIN'd R model. Also confirmed that its a flat crank NA, and since they produced the BOSS S, I can only assume they have a race only version down the line as well.

I notice a few of you have mentioned the Trinity. The bombshell of the trip came when I heard the Romeo engine plant was closed off to tours because the plant was working on Voodoo
To my knowledge there is no new "big block" engine being developed but it is early enough in development of the GT500 replacement for that info to be closed to a very small circle right now. I would agree with Sterling that cost makes it a good bet we see a forced induction version of Voodoo. 2 niche engines? I doubt it.

Sometimes I wish Ford would publish their 3/4/5 years plans, rather like Chrysler Corp recently did. It would certainly stop all the speculation :)

We have heard that the 5.8L SC wont fit the S550 without heavy modifications. You have to think that if the Voodoo is naturally aspirated, the GT500 replacement (whatever its called) will probably be SC also.. Fitting an even bigger block SC engine is going to require even more extensive modifications. I'm just not sure it's in the budget.
What if the GT350 is the GT500 replacement?

today a "big block" Ford could have been loosely translated from anything exceeding the original modular constraint of 100mm bore spacing. I could see someone referring to the 6.2L as a big block, but I do still have my reservations of that engine fitting in the S550.

To give you an idea of what it would take to put a 6.2 in the s550, there was a prototype s197 that was fitted with one... the entire front clip had to be extended 2 inches outward.

I don't need a 6.2L TT motor. A TT'd 5.0 with 700hp would do me just fine :D
