  1. Cobra Jet intake install

I don't get why people are so hung up on the trap speed/time. There are so many factors that go into that, from weather and tire conditions, to driver variability, that there's no point comparing. I think the only valid comparison is to do a before and after dyno, and see where the power gains...
  2. Cobra Jet intake install

Really curious to see what happens with low end torque. One of the disadvantages of the Boss 302 intake manifold was that the short runners usually gave you top end power at the cost of low end torque. The cobra jet manifold was supposed to fix that, but I believe it's only been verified on the...
  3. Rumor - Will Mach 1 follow the GT350 in 2018?

Honestly the 3.0 (the one in the Continental) is a much better engine than the 5.0. I don't think the Mustang would ever get it for cost reasons, but you could do some really cool stuff on the track with its torque curve. The 3.5 may be a reasonable option just because all the development costs...
  4. Rumor - Will Mach 1 follow the GT350 in 2018?

MY18 is the official S550 refresh. Don't expect major changes, more so a few styling improvements and probably some parts from the Shelby to be phased down as options on the GT. Think basically of the 14 Focus ST -> 15 Focus ST. They modified the faschia, gave it some new features like rear...
  5. Upcoming Recession = GT350R under MSRP?

Recession or not, the Shelby is targeted at a niche market that always has money to spend on fancy cars. Sure, some middle class people buy them, but they're really not the core market base. Price will remain firm. PS, the US economy spanked expectations last quarter. We're growing while...
  6. Dropped car off at dealer yesterday for a huge list of issues...

Have you met Luther? Because last I checked, the 2.7 has won several awards from JD Power - which btw are driven by customer feedback
  7. Dropped car off at dealer yesterday for a huge list of issues...

I can only comment on the Ford plants, but the workers there get yelled at if their just a few seconds late
  8. Dropped car off at dealer yesterday for a huge list of issues...

I don't think the UAW generalization is fair. Unless if you've actually spent some time in a plant (which I have as a systems engineer), you won't realize just tight their working tolerances actually are. Many people are working multiple stations because corporate decided it wasn't enough budget.
  9. Make sure your passwords are secure

If you haven't already seen this thread, recently some weirdos have been trying to hack random accounts. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16754 If your password doesn't already have at last 1 caps and 1 number, I highly recommend you update it
  10. Somebody's trying to log in to my account

Without tracing how the IP address is being routed to the servers, it's really difficult to say who is really trying to get access. No IP address is "fake", but you can easily mask your address using a proxy. But again, I think it's far more likely that a deranged banned member is trying to get...
  11. Somebody's trying to log in to my account

Again, I think it's more likely that a single person (probably someone who got banned from here previously) is just using a proxy to fuck with people
  12. Somebody's trying to log in to my account

I'm curious whether it's just one person using a proxy, I can't see the Chinese government actually commissioning people to hack into a car forum
  13. Somebody's trying to log in to my account

Just got the same email, IP address: 72.52.91.30 My password is a good combination of caps, numbers and special characters, so I feel confident it is secure. But still, very strange that someone actually bothered to try to get access to an account I rarely use now.
  14. V6 to GT experience

Wouldn't be a bad idea to play with a beater manual first just to get the hang of rev matching. Especially practice rush hour driving, you don't want to wear down the clutch by either riding it or poor rev matching.
  15. MAPerformance Bolt-On Turbo Kit - 500whp Proven!

I'm not going to bother with this anymore. You can't claim equal performance to v8 then say better fuel economy out of boost. That is a complete straw man argument, and not worth my time to continue. *outtie*
  16. MAPerformance Bolt-On Turbo Kit - 500whp Proven!

Well, you and several others have made a point about the fuel economy, and I think you guys end up contradicting yourselves in that argument. When putting out more power than the v8, I would be absolutely shocked if the fuel economy was still better. But anyways, the idea of customizing the...
  17. MAPerformance Bolt-On Turbo Kit - 500whp Proven!

Fine you could make the argument highway MPG would slightly go up, but again, the moment you go into boost your MPGs would plummet. That's why I was curious as to why someone would want to spend that much on a turbo kit, when the GT is just a little more.
  18. MAPerformance Bolt-On Turbo Kit - 500whp Proven!

That's entirely my point, a turbo does zilch for highway cruising. Turbos basically allow you to cram more fuel in the combustion chamber, where the input energy comes from the exhaust. Once you realize the actual thermodynamics, it becomes quite obvious adding more boost will result in a lot...
