"Q: Will this be a platform for the GT500?
A: The car has got really good bones so…"

That just gets me all giggly inside! Hope it comes true, because the Z06 is very tempting..

Great Q&A! Lots of interesting tid bits in there. Did anyone get a feel for whether he was leaning towards this motor will go into the GT500 or something else with his vague answer lol.

The GT350 will be the competition for the Z06. On the road course when things get heat soaked from the blower (a couple of laps) that Z06 will be down about 100hp. The NA GT350 will be giving them all sorts of trouble.

Does Ford have room in the product line for a 60k/600hp car and a presumably 70k+ car with 650-750hp?
GT500 replacement will be over 800. And the two cars will not compete with each other really. You will have one track day car doing an impression of a street car (GT350) and the other will be a street car/cruiser/beast (GT500). They could be exactly the same price. Pick the best tool for the job you want to accomplish.

Regardless of branding and semantics, SVT was undoubtedly heavily involved.

It would make sense they are saving the moniker for the GT500 successor coming in a few years.
