I will be there friday 2-27 to dyno tune with the ngauge!!When are you going down there? I'll be there on the 20th to get tuned.
This has been mentioned a few times and I still don't understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the device itself is not used for tuning, but merely for loading the tune onto the car.full control over all tuning parameters
we haven't set pricing on our packages yet, should be soon though
No, its just like an SCT X4, Diablosport InTune or a Cobb Accessport. Someone that provides tuning services would have to create the tune using other software/firmware and provide you a file that you could use the device to download to your car.I could have only the N Guage as my tuning device?
The X4 is about 1/2 the size of the X3 (about the same size as the AccessPort) with a full color display that is twice as large as the X3.I don't know why SCT chose such a size and pattern. I suspect the display is better than the SCT3's I've had in the past, but with the advances in technology and miniaturization, the SCT could be improved.
Thanks, I understand what a tuner is. I was asking if the N Guage in itself is the tune holder that writes a premade tune into the car via obdii port, or does it have to connect to another device such as the n dash. No, its just like an SCT X4, Diablosport InTune or a Cobb Accessport. Someone that provides tuning services would have to create the tune using other software/firmware and provide you a file that you could use the device to download to your car.
Unlike SCT, Diablosport and Cobb that also develop tunes that come loaded on their devices the maker of nGauge, E-Motion does not and relies on their distributors to create tunes.
The AP is a nice unit no doubt, but on this platform I'd take a Lund or Bama tune over a Cobb tune.Cobb should release theirs to their tuners to make their own tunes.
After re reading, I think we are saying the same thing different ways. The AP is a nice unit no doubt, but on this platform I'd take a Lund or Bama tune over a Cobb tune.
Interesting thought though about getting others to make AP tunes - not sure what sort of effort it would involve for Cobb to make their tuning software support the 5.0
Yeah most people on this forum really have no clue what the "tuners" are for. The software is the real important part, not the device that loads the tune. This has been mentioned a few times and I still don't understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the device itself is not used for tuning, but merely for loading the tune onto the car.
So, what do you mean when you say full control over all tuning parameters? Wouldn't that be a tuning software limitation vs. a device limitation? And surely any software limitation could be addressed with an updated version?
COBB recently released the Accesstuner Race and Pro for the Ecoboost platform. A lot of Pro Tuners are already making custom tunes with the AP.Not what I was saying. Cobb should release the Accessport to let outside tuners to make their own tunes on the Accessport.
The busses are basically the same, so the machine interface has got to be pretty close.
Are they making tunes for the 5.0 or are you referring to the Ecoboost only?COBB recently released the Accesstuner Race and Pro for the Ecoboost platform. A lot of Pro Tuners are already making custom tunes with the AP.
That is only for the ecoboost, we are talking 5.0.COBB recently released the Accesstuner Race and Pro for the Ecoboost platform. A lot of Pro Tuners are already making custom tunes with the AP.
