Yeah most people on this forum really have no clue what the "tuners" are for. The software is the real important part, not the device that loads the tune.
I know the tuner device is just for loading the tune on the car, but I don't want to pay a lot of extra money for a fancy tuner if it isn't needed. Id prefer the nguage if it overcomes the hardware limitations of the SCT, just not if it's substantially more expensive. I saw the livernois device is around $600, does that device have the same limitations as the SCT? Almost double the price.

I think that's one of the reasons they are not releasing the cost of the N Guage. It probably costs more than the SCT4.

InTune looks like an iPod touch. That would work, but isn't it based in diablo sports software? If they just released the app for us to load onto our own I devices, that would make it less expensive.

I believe the ngauge will be competitively priced to the x4.

Are they making tunes for the 5.0 or are you referring to the Ecoboost only?
Only the Ecoboost. I'm only saying they do offer it to outside tuners, well their Pro Tuners, and the average owner can also do their own tuning. This was about Cobb, not the specific platform.

That is only for the ecoboost, we are talking 5.0.
I know, I was simply talking about the capabilities of the AP. It just doesn't help you.

Beef - I know the nGauge has real time logging, but is it sufficient on it's own to perform true datalogging like you can with the SCT for remote tuning?
I haven't personally logged with one yet, lund is doing all the preliminary testing

This has been mentioned a few times and I still don't understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the device itself is not used for tuning, but merely for loading the tune onto the car.

So, what do you mean when you say full control over all tuning parameters? Wouldn't that be a tuning software limitation vs. a device limitation? And surely any software limitation could be addressed with an updated version?
yes and no. some of the proprietary tuning stuff I cannot get into. but yes, as parameters come open that an x4 can access, the calibration could be updated

Thanks, I understand what a tuner is. I was asking if the N Guage in itself is the tune holder that writes a premade tune into the car via obdii port, or does it have to connect to another device such as the n dash.

If the SCT has downsized, then that is an improvement to the good. I still like the APV3 ergonomics better. I have not yet played with the SCT4 GUI.
no preloaded tunes

the hypertech box looks like something out of the 80's and has been around along time, but it has very good access, even for something that's been around forever

no, the reason is like I already said, we have not finalized pricing.

as soon as it's ready, we'll have pricing

No preloaded tunes on the N Guage? I am now confused. What does the N Guage actually consist of? What are the contents of the "box" when shipped?

Sorry to be a PITA.

I'm sure if they're selling it through Lund racing its going to come with a Lund tune on it.
I expect it would contain a Lund tune. I hope so. What I am interested in is what's in the box.

Hey VooDoo,

That's awesome! You're going to love Bama's Tunes! Let me know how you make out and if there's anything I can help out with in the meantime!

If you plan to have it dyno'd or are working with someone using SCTs software, don't worry about issues with the SCT. Just had the car dyno tuned by Dan at Pro Dyno and I don't think it could be any more perfect. Just do research before ordering a tune/tuner guys.
