Just to do a little clarifying since I think there's somewhat skewed information in here. Not totally wrong, but just a little twisted around...

We actually have customers putting down great times in the Automatic 2015 GT's on tunes we sell from Bama. I'm not sure where the information is being passed around that there's a ton missing in the SCT software, but it's not 100% true.

All of the necessary parameters are in the software to make a car go fast. In fact, all of the necessary parameters are in SCT's software in order to give a car a killer street/strip tune. Bama just had a customer run a 12.3 in their 2015 Auto with noting but a Cold Air Intake and a 93 octane Bama V2 Race Tune and Nitto 555's (not 555R's).

From what we've seen the Bama team uses multiple pieces of software and any time they found something that they've needed to properly calibrate, they've notified SCT and had it added. They're one of the reasons that new parameters are coming out every day. I'd love to hear about any specific "missing parameters" that are holding SCT tuners back. The results say otherwise - strictly from a device standpoint, not talking about quality of tunes or starting a war with anyone here.

Again from a device-standpoint, the SCT tuner is far better in terms of functionality than what else is currently out there IMO.

Hope this helps!
thank you for clarifying!

I'm lined up for a dyno tune with Pro Dyno next Thursday.

I'm speaking from first hand experience. I know for a fact there are limiting parameters depending on who's tuning and what software they are using. That may have needed to be clarified but I certainly wasn't twisting anything around. Like Beef said, the X4 is at a disadvantage currently and I'm sure they'll work out the kinks.

As long as the "limitations" the SCT has are software based, nobody who has or wants an SCT should be worried. If it's something in the hardware, then wait for a new tuner or wait to see what SCT does to combat these "limitations".

I don't think anyone will have anything to worry about very soon. SCT is a great company and I'm sure they'll work out these "minor" kinks.

So I have a sct x4 my mustang is a automatic with 3.15 gears. So what m I better off with. I've done a lot of recherche and the best tuner for automatic that I seen everyone say are vmp and mike roush, should I get a tune from one of them or is there better tuner systems out there that can tune all the parameters more then the x4 can. By the way why do they say the x4 can not tune all the parameters what parameters can't the x4 tune?

I've had experience with the Cobb APV3 and I like it much better than the SCT. The GUI is really nice and the ergonomics are much better. Cobb doesn't have any near term plans to integrate it into the 5.0 though. I don't know why SCT chose such a size and pattern. I suspect the display is better than the SCT3's I've had in the past, but with the advances in technology and miniaturization, the SCT could be improved.

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
From previous experience with my 2012, I will without a doubt be going with AED.
I have tried other big name tuners and was not happy with the service. It might just be their big name that keeps them from giving every customer the service they deserve.

The only way to get 100% out of a tune, is a custom tune...period. The Bama tune I had with just a cat back was knocking on the dyno. I put it back to stock after that. Not there fault as fuel and variations of engines plays a big role. It's all about who is tuning YOUR car. You can remote tune, that works because the data is from your car. It is the most important thing to do. My car is now supercharged and running a InTune. It is a good tune, as good as anyone can expect without hitting the dyno.

I agree, my SCT x4 feels like a large cheap toy. A friend of mine also said the Cobb was much nicer in feel and design.

I had Cobb on my 2014 WRX, and its an extremely impressive unit for the cost, which includes base Stage 1/2/2+ tunes. The data logging and diagnostic features are fantastic.

The "twisted information" comment wasn't directed specifically at anyone. It was more a general statement that I think the X4 is as capable of a device as any other out there. Yes there's different software that you can use if you're missing what you need, but for the most part the stuff is accessible. Bama has been working with SCT every time something is missing from the template that they've needed. They've been able to tune a bunch of different autos with 100% positive reviews including 1/4 mile, street and dyno results.

Do you have any specific parameters that you think are missing? I know Bama has some technical capabilities that are probably helping them and it's also possible that they have different access. However, I'd love to hear what parameters you feel are missing with SCT so we can validate whether or not they are.

Also how long ago did you have issues with missing parameters?

Mike is the man when it comes to the 6R80 but don't think he is doing tunes on the 15's until companies encrypt the tunes, too many tooners steal other people's tunes/work and then claim them as their own.
